Considering I was a stay at home housewife for 2 years after I got married, I shouldn’t be as bored as I am now. I absolutely hate housework, but since I lost my job, all I want to do is clean. Is it the boredom or is it the fact that it’s over 60 degrees outside, and I’ve got spring fever! It’s the last day of February and I’ve got my Spring Cleaning going in full force. That’s just not me. Normally I’m the one sitting back at the end of the summer saying, “Oh, it’s fall already? Have I been THAT lazy that I let spring AND summer pass me by without doing my spring cleaning?” Oh well, new year, new me right?

Charter Pt 2

This is a series I have called Charter Communications Rant that is simply about all the issues I have had with Charter over the past 3 years, and how pissed I am at them.

If you need to catch up on my Charter rant series, you can read Pt 1.

When I closed my last post, I mentioned that an install tech did finally arrive. I spent the day at home waiting on him, and my face lit up like a light bulb when I saw that van arrive in my driveway. A week in my new house with no Internet was killing me. I really didn’t care about the cable TV, but I was dieing without Internet. I couldn’t go back to dial-up because I was still waiting on the phone to be installed, besides, who wants to go back to dial-up anyway? So, I didn’t even give the tech time to get out of his van before I was on the porch waiting for him with my “are you gonna fix it or not?” look. After taking his time getting out of his van, finally giving me a friendly but I’m scared of you greeting, he began his walk around the house looking for the box where service was previously installed at the house.

Charter Pt 1

So I wasn’t online much yesterday. I didn’t get a chance to blog as much as I would have liked, and I was extremely ill. At least it has given me a nice post/rant for today which I have decided to turn into a nice series. I’m doing so because this would be about a 10 page post if I didn’t.

We have had issues with our cable internet service since the day it was installed we called to transfer our service from our apartment to our new house. It all started a little over 3 years ago.

My Next DIY Project

Check out this great page on how to Declutter Your Desk. I showed this to my hubby just a few minutes ago, and I’m ready to try it! I think I’ll definitely get my office organized around my desk this way. I can’t wait to see how nice everything looks without tons of cords draped across my floor and piled behind my desk!

The Unemployment News

I’ve been a little down the past few days, and I just haven’t found much time to blog, but I thought it was about time to talk about the work situation once again. As of Friday afternoon I have been laid off. This is both a good thing and a bad thing.

Let’s start with the good. I’m no longer stuck on 3rd shift, and I’m definitely not sitting here bitching about it anymore. I’m not working for an asshole boss who doesn’t know the difference between an employee and a slave. I’ve finally got the free time I need to dedicate to other things such as my blogging.

As for the bad, even though I’m laid off, I can’t draw my unemployment right now while I find another job. Because I worked as a temp, when we had vacation weeks at the 4th of July and Christmas, we were filed for unemployment. This means that I have to draw off of that year until July. Considering most of the previous year I babysat from my home, repaired computers, and helped take care of my aging grandparents, all of my earnings where “under the table” and I couldn’t draw anything. So I still have very little income coming in until I find another full time job.

Basically it’s time for me to enjoy about a week of being unemployed before I jump out there and start searching again. Cross your fingers, and let’s all hope I can find something good.
