My grandmother is nutty. I mean it. She’s really loco in her own ways. Don’t get me wrong, I do love her to death, but her crazy antics are driving ME crazy, too. I’ve been dealing with her loony-ness for most of my adult life. She’s definitely OCD which makes things even crazier around here. I mean it, she really is. If she’s walking through walmart and sees a pair of shoes in the clothing department, she takes them back to the shoe department. Then she’ll spend the next hour sorting through the shoes making sure they’re in the right boxes and aligned perfectly on the shelves. God help us! (more…)
That is, my own music! My hubby is no longer stealing my computer to listen to his stuff on my uber sound system. We’ve had a few arguments recently due to the fact that I have a kick-ass sound system hooked up to my computer while he’s had to deal with a cheap $5 set of headphones on his after he broke his good ones.
He was having a hard time playing his Battlefield 2 game because he couldn’t communicate with his teammates without a mic, and he was having a hard enough time hearing them with the cheap headphones. So, this past week we got him a pair of LTB Magnum True 5.1 Surround Sound Headphones with Built in Microphone for a very cool price of $70.
He absolutely loves them! I love them, too, and I’ve already threatened to steal them a few times. The microphone is awesome. Even with microphone boost turned off, he was picking up a conversation on the other end of the house. Mind you, our house is small at about 1700 sq ft , but our bedroom is on the opposite end of the house, and he could hear me in there talking to my sister as plain as if he were in the same room with us. Now he doesn’t have to worry about the mic not picking him up when he’s talking. I adjusted the settings some so that it won’t pick up every other sound in the house, but overall these are some great headphones that I’m recommending to everyone who needs a great pair for gaming, music, djing, etc.
I tested them out with my free aim phoneline, and they work much better than the USB phone I purchased awhile back. I might be ebaying my USB phone and purchasing another pair of these headphones! The headphones came with a VERY girlie mouse that had a heart surrounded by LED lights, but it was free, so it’s going in my spare computer junk parts box to use when one of our current ones die. At least it’s an optical!
*EDIT*
These headphones suck! Less than 2 weeks later the speakers in the right ear started cutting in and out. TWO days later hubby was taking them off and the right side completely fell off and rolled across the floor.
Last night I sat down to watch a movie, and guess what? My cable started cutting out again! I couldn’t watch more than 5 minutes without it doing the same ‘ole thing again. We had a few problems with it Sunday morning too, but I always expect a little extra traffic on the weekends, so my internet cutting out a couple of times wasn’t a problem, until the cable started going last night. This means the problem still hasn’t been fixed. I’m really to the point that I would switch to another cable company if I could. Actually I’ve been at that point for 3 years, but the only other options we have are a rinky dink cable company that doesn’t offer internet services, or direct tv. Charter High Speed is the only broadband service I can get way out here in BFE.
On a good note, I mentioned in an earlier post that the last Charter tech sent to my house happened to be someone I know from way back when he dated a friend of mine in high school. We didn’t know each other real well then, but when he realized that we ride bikes, he decided he’d like to get to know me better now. He’s wanted to purchase a bike for awhile now, so I’ve kept in contact with him over the phone for the past few weeks, helping him find one in his price range that would be good for a beginner. Actually the last 2 times I’ve had to call a tech out, he’s shown up, and told me he will take all my calls from now on, so I do feel better. He actually tries to fix the problem even if he can’t pin-point it yet. He did a lot of stuff last time he was here that improved things even if it didn’t completely fix it.
So, what did I do? I rolled out of bed this morning and called him up. I know it’s a little sneaky, but I decided to kill 2 birds with one stone. I invited him to go riding with us on Sunday so (1) he can ride with a few people who are willing to help n00bs instead of leaving them behind, and (2) so he can be at my house on the one day that most of the bad cable stuff happens. Evil little plan? I don’t think so. I think I’m helping someone out with their riding skills, hanging out with a new friend, and taking advantage of my connections at the same time lol. The problem never gets fixed because a tech is never hear when the problem happens, which is always on the weekend and at night, so at least if he can see what’s really going on, then I can schedule an appointment and have him out here during normal work ours to fix it!
Haha! I watched this 3 times and I’m still laughing. Maybe you’ve got to be a bullie lover to enjoy it. Maybe not. I still think it’s friggin’ hilarious! Just ignore the fact that most of us can’t understand a word of what is said, but actions definitely speak louder than words in this case! Enjoy!
