We met up with Allison and a few of her friends Saturday, and rode for about an hour, and then she let me test the new R6’s passenger seat back to her house. Let me tell you that’s the most uncomfortable seat ever. I know in the beginning stages, they weren’t even going to put a passenger seat on that bike, and as much as I like to be able to ride with my friends, I wish they hadn’t. I have never felt so unstable as a passenger, the seat is extremely small and uncomfortable, and the sides of the back cut into your legs. The tank design hardly gives a passenger anything to hold on to, especially if the driver is small. I couldn’t hold her waste without feeling like I was about to fall off!
The only plus was when we hit the drive through at Micky D’s. Haha. I had enough room between the two of us to stick a Happy Meal between my legs securely. Let me tell you that was an interesting situation!
When we got to her house, and I went to climb off the bike, I had a hell of a time. I know I’m a shortie at 5′2″, but come on, the seat sits so high it’s ridiculous. To get off the bike I had to jump and stumble back into the garage wall to catch my balance. Overall from the passenger’s point of view, this bike is horrible. It’s an awesome bike for a rider who never plans on having passengers, and after watching it in action this weekend, it’s great for sticking curves, but if you plan on having lots of passengers, consider something else.

[...] I’m not so sure I can ride that far on a sport bike. I mean, the 600r is extremely comfortable as far as sport bike passenger seats go, but my butt still tends to go numb after a couple hours of riding. Now we’re going to have the r6 seats, so I’m not exactly sure how comfortable that will be. Thank god it’s not the new r6 passenger seat! Those are horrible! [...]
