Everyday Randomness

I know I’ve mentioned many times before that I really need new blinds because the pets rip them to shreds. I finally decided to get some evidence of that. I just can’t keep vinyl blinds on any windows other than the French Doors or they’re ripped to shreds within a week.

First I shall present the great works of the cat.

Then next we have the dog.

You can see I’ve even tried to tape the blinds back in place temporarily to hold them closed. I ordered some cloth pull down shades for all of the normal sized windows. I’m hoping without any slats, there won’t be any issues with these getting ripped to shreds. Plus with cloth shades, I can throw them in the washer to keep them nice and clean.

The only exception to the cloth shades will be the French Doors in the living room. Right now I have old ugly vertical blinds that are falling apart and have changed to a dingy yellow color, so I’m getting a set of faux wood blinds to go in there. We’ve got wood paneling in the living room, well every room for that matter, so I ordered a faux wood that will match the walls. I think it will look nice, plus the dark color of the blinds will help to reduce the heat in the summer…I hope!
