Walking For A Cure
How do you feel about Alzheimer’s? I feel very strongly about supporting the cause and finding a cure. That’s not just because I’ve seen many people around me suffering from the horrible disease, but because I believe in finding a treatment for any horrible disease such as this. With the technology we have today, it’s only right to keep searching for the cure. I personally watched my Grandpa suffer with Alzheimer’s, and I’m already seeing the signs of the disease in the only Grandpa I have left as well as in hubby’s Grandmother. It hurts me to see them forget things, call me by the wrong name, and not be able to live a normal everyday life full of happy memories. That’s why I fully support the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk. I want to find a cure for this horrible disease.
This is the nation’s largest event to raise money and support for Alzheimer’s research. Anyone can participate, and there are many different ways to get involved. Let me explain the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk to you. Basically the walk consists of a group of volunteers in your community who set out to walk 2-3 miles. The walk normally takes place during a morning on a weekend during the fall. Walking 2-3 miles is not hard to do people. Anyone who can walk around a mall shopping for a couple hours can walk 2-3 miles to support a cause like this. There are currently walks already planned in over 600 communities. Even though I live in a small town in South Carolina, I was able to find 4 walks within 30 miles of my home.
