Saturday Six A Week Late

I’m a week late on Saturday Six, but because it’s October I’m going to go ahead and do last week’s questions that are all about Halloween! You might see 2 issues of Saturday Seven from me this weekend.

1. When do you buy candy for local trick-or-treaters?

I know I’m horrible. but I bargain shop. I run out to grab a couple bags of candy a few hours before the tricker treaters arrive because that’s when the candy starts going on sale.

2. When you buy Halloween candy (or if you were to buy it), would you be more likely to buy lower-priced candy that you didn’t particularly care for or candy you like that happened to cost a little more?

I would like to be able to spring for the most expensive stuff, but I don’t have a lot of cash to spend, so I buy what I can afford. The kids don’t know the difference!

3. If you were in a mood for a scary movie to watch on Halloween night, which would you select?

Probably Halloween The Movie.

4. Take the quiz: What should you be for Halloween?

Your Halloween Costume Should Be

A Flying Monkey

What Should You Be For Halloween?

Sorry man, that’s just not my style.

5. Should trick-or-treating be regulated so that it is held on non-school nights and during hours that might help children avoid dangerous travel hours?

I totally think so, but I also think it’s the parent’s responsibility to keep their children in a safe environment. I don’t think kids should be allowed to walk alone through neighborhoods to trick or treat. I believe in the “if you don’t know them, don’t go to their house” rule. Stick to accompanying your kids to houses of people you know.

6. How do you feel about some churches scheduling “fall festivals” to replace Halloween because of the holiday’s dark origin?

I think it’s great. I grew up going to fall festivals because my mom doesn’t believe in Halloween. My dad allowed us to trick or treat, but we also went to the fall festivals which were a blast.
