I’ve been having problems all day with my blog. This morning I couldn’t access either one of my self hosted blogs because I was having issues with my internet gateway. I finally got that resolved after spending almost an hour on the phone with Charter. Now I’m having problems with my Akismet plugin. When I try to moderate comments or delete spam comments that Akismet has caught I get an error message telling me the connection to my MySQL is timing out. Does anyone know anything about this? I seriously have no clue. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin, but I’m thinking that’s not the issue. I think the issue has something to do with my MySQL database itself.

A month or two ago, I was having similar problems. The sites that host the MySQL databases were having connectivity issues and it was messing with my blog. Check with whoever is listed in your config.php file as the MySQL database host.

I guess I’ll have to talk with them again because I spoke with them earlier, and I was told it was probably an issue with my blog. They weren’t having any problems connecting to my database.
