I just got off the phone with Bubba’s vet. I had one of my normal freak outs, so I decided to call him just to make sure everything is ok. I took Bubba out to poop, and he started bleeding again, although it wasn’t trickling out like before. It was just dripping small drops every couple minutes, but that and the fact that every time he lays down he still leaves a small spot of blood on the blanket makes me concerned. It’s supposed to drain, but the vet told us yesterday that there shouldn’t be a lot of blood in the drainage. When I talked to him today he said that this much blood isn’t typical of most surgeries, but this isn’t your typical surgery. He said as long as it’s still just a few drops here and there, and a little blood seepage when he sits down not to worry for now. If it hasn’t stopped with the bleeding by tomorrow to bring him into the clinic because they’re open ’til 1pm on Saturdays.
He streesed how important it is to force rest him, and that’s one thing I’m having no problem with whatsoever. I thought it might be an issue since I don’t have my crate, but he’s slept all day in the floor on his blanket. He did get a little rowdy earlier after I took him outside, but I gave him his 2nd dose of Children’s Benedryl, and he was asleep again in a few minutes. I’m just so ready for all of this to be over. I feel sorry for the poor guy.
Here’s what is tail used to look like. As you can see not only does it twist, but it’s really close to his body. He was having a hard time lifting it.

Here’s what his tail looks like now. Remember this is 2 days after surgery, and it’s extremely swollen plus it’s shaved. I’ll take another photo when the swelling goes down.

Of course I had to take a picture of my cute little baby. He’s stretched out asleep right now, but here’s a photo what he’s been doing all day.
