It doesn’t matter what time of year it is, there’s always a time for saving cash. My mom is always asking me how I save so much money when I shop. The answer is always simple. I shop online, and I use a ton of online coupons. My mom doesn’t own a computer or care much about the internet, so she still just doesn’t understand how easy it is for me to find coupons online. I try to explain that it’s just like clipping coupons from the paper, but I guess it really isn’t the same after all.
I had to laugh when our local news station decided to do a “Buyer 411″ segment this year that taught people exactly how to go online and search for online coupons to use for their Christmas shopping. Christmas isn’t the only time of the year you can save money people. I never finalize a purchase anywhere online without doing a quick search for an online coupon. 9 times out of 10 I’ll find something even if it’s just 10% off or free shipping. These things add up!
I always hit up CouponChief as my first stop when looking for online shopping coupons. They’ve got great resources for a ton of the online stores where I like to shop. I will still be taking advantage of online coupons well after the holiday season is over and done, but I do still have a few presents left to buy, and I can definitely use a few online coupons for those purchases.
Hubby wants a specific tool set from Sears, so I’ll be taking advantage of the free shipping on that. Then we’ve still got to buy gifts for the pets. Yes, we make cute little stockings for Bubba and Alley full of toys and treats, so I’ll probably hit up the coupons for PetSmart.
Whether you’re shopping online during the holiday season or buying stuff throughout the year don’t forget to check out online coupons for every order you make. You never know when you’re going to save!
Yay She’s Working
Permalink | Shared On: 30 Nov 07 | Filed As: Technology & GadgetsYay! My new baby is running. I’m adding all the needed drivers and files to her right now, then I’ll set her up on my network to transfer my stuff over. It’s going to be so nice having a new computer. I’ve been so afraid this one would die before I could get my new desktop put together. This old Dell has been beeping at me left and right for the past week, and it looks like she survived long enough to help me get all the files I’ve needed for the other one.
I’ll be giving this one a complete overhaul once I’ve got everything moved, and hopefully the motherboard isn’t so strained from the fact that the onboard sound has been slowly dieing that I’ll need to replace it. I’m going to set this one up in the guest room as our “guest” computer because we’ve always got someone over here wanting to check their Myspace or look up something. It’s going to be nice having 3 fully functioning pc’s in the house at all times.
Online Storage Solutions
Permalink | Shared On: 30 Nov 07 | Filed As: ReviewsHubby and I decided a couple weeks ago it was time to reformat his computer. He’s been having trouble with a few things not working properly, and because he doesn’t keep a lot on his hard drive it is just easier to reformat rather than troubleshoot. Unfortunately I had just about maxed out all the space on my hard drive, so I really didn’t have the room to backup his stuff on my computer.
I thought about using iBackup’s Online Storage as an alternative to deleting things from my own computer to make room for his stuff. I like how iBackup allows you to transfer all your files to a safe location online where you can retrieve them later. iBackup has added a new feature that makes it easier than ever to keep up with and retrieve your files. Now you can download a handy little program that maps your iBackup account as a drive on your computer. You can drag and drop files without much hassle just as if you were moving files from one folder to another.
I didn’t get a chance to use the service because my 500GB SATA arrived for my new computer just in time to move everything, but if I run out of room in the future I’ll definitely be giving iBackup a try. For now I’ll just move hubby’s stuff to my new pc via our home network before reformatting his.
The Embarrassing Picture
Permalink | Shared On: 29 Nov 07 | Filed As: Photo & VideoYou know that embarrassing teeny bopper Backstreet Boys fan photo of my teenage years I was just talking about? I did find it, and now I see why I probably purposely made sure these photos got lost in the first place!
I seriously look like a total dork from the way I’m dressed, my cheesy grin, the kaboodle in the floor, and all of the posters EVERYWHERE. There were even posters on the ceiling! Seriously what was I thinking? Oh yeah. I was a 15 (know that b/c the big poster on the door came from the BSB concert in ATL that year…yes I can remember that), so I probably wasn’t thinking at all. I’m even wearing socks with some sort of heeled flip flops! I totally scream nerd! Ok, here I go totally embarrassing myself. This photo is too nerdy to even show it on my front page, so you’ll have to click to see more.
