This is my response to Tim’s post, 7 Reasons Florida is Better Than South Carolina.

1. Clemson > FSU…just look at the Bowden Bowl.

2. Florida must be doing something wrong. Even the Floridians are moving up here to buy up our lake front property. Everywhere you look you see a Florida tag.

3. Curves…yes we have them. What does Florida have? A bunch of flat land.

4. We don’t have stupid laws that say we can only have so many strip clubs within a certain area, liquor can’t be served with nude dancing, or that our strippers have to wear those stupid pasties. :-p (certain areas of Florida)

5. We actually see snow at least once a year.

6. South Carolina gas prices are some of the cheapest in the nation.

7. We have waterfalls and lakes all around us on top of our beaches. Florida has well….swamps, swamps and more swamps.

8. South Carolinians actually have a southern accent. Floridians are the yankees of the south.

9. We both see hurricanes but the probability of Florida taking a direct hurricane hit is much greater than South Carolina. The last hurricane to hit us directly was Hugo.

10. The Beacon Drive-In in Spartanburg, SC. There’s even billboards for it in England. People come from all over the world for that home cooked greasy goodness.

11. The Shag was created around Myrtle Beach, SC during the 1940s.

12. South Carolina was the first state to secede from the Union. We know what we want and go for it.

Oh and Tim, the fruitcake lady might be from Florida, but James Brown, Dizzy Gillespie, Shoeless Joe Jackson, and Vanna White all entered this world on South Carolina soil!
