Personal Paintings
Awhile back I got a custom print of one of our wedding photos that is just gorgeous, but I’ve always wanted a custom painting of hubby and I. I recently discovered it’s a lot easier and more affordable to get a custom painting that I ever thought. Paintyourlife.com has a ton of different styles and packages that I’ve decided would really work for me, and I’m thinking about ordering two paintings from them. First of all I would love to order a painting of hubby and I that’s an updated picture. The current canvas I have is a wedding photo. I would also like to order a painting of my sister and I to give my mom as a birthday gift since it’s coming up soon.
I love how Paint Your Life offers different types of mediums like oil paintings, charcoal drawings, watercolor portraits, pencil drawings, acrylic paintings, pastel, watercolor, and mosaic. The quality of the paintings is absolutely beautiful, too. Hubby really likes the charcoal motorcycle picture on the site, and it’s inspired him to want to buy a painting of his bike. After all we have some gorgeous shots of our trips to Deal’s Gap for him to choose from.
If you’ve got a few minutes stop by the site and check out some of the gorgeous paintings and portraits. It’s really easy to navigate around the site, and there is definitely some beauty there to admire.
The Bad News: Worst Hair Cut Ever
Remember how I said the new chick messed up the layers in my hair? They’re WAY worse than I thought. I was going to go up there today to get my normal chick to fix them, but sleeping all day meant the shop closed before I woke up. I told hubby I’d worry about it tomorrow because she just needed to fix some of the side. He said have you seen the back of it? He held up a mirror and I about cried. She BUTCHERED the back of my hair.
I’m going up there tomorrow to raise immortal hell. I told hubby as soon as I left the shop that I felt like something was up because a. she tried to charge me $20 to straighten it when the other girls do it for free and b. she didn’t even blow dry it. I was in a hurry to get out of there, too, so I didn’t complain that it was a little damp. I totally should have. I pulled out my receipt tonight so I’ll have it for when I storm walk in there tomorrow, and I noticed the chick didn’t even put her name down as the stylist. It’s got my normal girl’s name on it! I think she fucked up and knows it.
I didn’t finish straightening my hair because I was so pissed. I just grabbed my cell phone and started taking photos so I could see the horrible mess better. I pulled out the shirt I wore yesterday (yes I washed it last night) so my pics will all look uniform when I print them out and storm into the salon. THIS is what the back of my hair looks like.
Seriously, how is my normal girl going to fix this without having to bob all of my hair off around my chin? I don’t even know if she can do that! Some of the layers are WAY above my chin. It’s amazing how you can tell someone “cut it to my shoulders and give me 1/4″ of subtle layers” and you end up with this!
I seriously don’t know how they’re going to fix it, but I do know one thing. They’ll be fixing it for free, giving me my money back, AND giving me my next cut free because it’ll probably take another cut after this one to get it straightened back out. Thank god my hair grows fast, so in about 3-4 weeks I should have enough new length to be able to snip a little off to fix it.
Blood Work
I need to schedule another appointment for more blood work. The last tests I had ran right before Christmas came back normal, but like I mentioned in my Hashimoto’s post that can keep happening if my blood work isn’t done at the right time. The constant fatigue, mood swings, and insomnia are all symptoms of the thyroid disease my sister suffers from. Hashimoto’s can cause ups and downs. One day you’re full of energy, but the next you have none.
The doctor called yesterday to tell me my results were normal, but of course I didn’t check my voice mail until tonight. He asked me to call him back to set up a schedule for blood work every 3 or 4 weeks for awhile. That way maybe we can catch an elevation when I’m having multiple symptoms. We’ll that’s happening like crazy right now, but the problem is that it’s the holidays. Do you know how hard it is to get into a doctor’s office right now?
The problem with Hashimoto’s is it’s so hard to diagnose. I’ve got almost all of the symptoms except the elevated antibodies because those can come and go. My sister was diagnosed at 18, but she went through 2 years of testing before they were able to give her a correct diagnosis. In the beginning the doctors thought she might be suffering from fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome.
All I really know at this point is that I’m tired of feeling like this. I’m tired of not getting a correct diagnosis, and I’m tired of the medical bills piling up. If I’m diagnosed I have a chance at getting state help because it’s a chronic illness.
Nerves Shot
Do you ever have those days where every single little thing gets on your nerves? This is one of those days for me. I had another sleepless night last night, and well for a good part of the day. I finally made it to sleep around 10am, and I slept until 5pm. I could have slept a lot longer, but hubby woke me up bitching that I’d been asleep all day.
That’s the first thing that pissed me off. I ignored him and tried to go back to sleep for a little longer, but a friend showed up. This particular friend is loud non-stop. He talks loud, laughs loud, he’s just generally loud. I got up, stumbled to the computer to check my email, and realized my cell phone was laying on my desk going crazy with texts.
That’s the next thing to drive me crazy. My phone has been going off all day with texts. Of course I couldn’t answer them being asleep and all, but I’ve got quite a few nasty texts from a certain so called friend asking why I haven’t been answering back. It’s like if I don’t answer within a matter of minutes I’m a total bitch. WRONG. Just a tired one.
I tried to hide out in the bedroom for a few minutes, but then hubby started driving me nuts again wanting me to switch my computer over from Linux to Windows so he could look something up. I showed him 4 times how to go to Firefox on Linux and he still doesn’t get it. CLICK THE DAMN BUTTON! That’s it!
Now hubby and his friend are in the other room playing Rock Band really loudly. They’re talking about taking the game to my cousin’s house, and I really hope they do. I just really need some peace and quiet.
