Hubby and I have been discussing the purchase of our future home for a long time. We’ve considered many different options including purchasing the home we’re currently living in. I’ve mentioned before that my Grandparents own it, and while my Grandpa is more than willing to sell it to us, my Grandma just doesn’t want to let go. Because of that lately we’ve been leaning more and more towards just building the home we want.
We’ve also got to take into consideration the recent job offer hubby received. He would still be working on multi-million dollar homes, but he would be a sub contractor overseeing hardwood floor installation. Compared to his current job that one would be a breeze, plus he can make a lot more cash.
If he takes this job he’ll also have the opportunity to choose which area he wants to work in. He has already mentioned that he would like to continue working in North Carolina because there are more jobs available in the field, and the pay is much higher up there. The only problem is he’s getting tired of driving 70 miles every day just for work. The cost of living in North Carolina is slightly higher, but the gas he would save completely makes up for it, so I’m going to start looking for Homes for Sale in North Carolina.
If we see anything in the area that we might be interested in we’ve already agreed we would consider looking for Apartments for Rent in the area until we have settled on the house we want. We’re also looking at land that may be for sale in that area. We could always find a decent priced apartment to live in while we build our own house.
I love living in South Carolina, but I’ve always said if I had to move to another state it would be North Carolina or Tennessee. I already spend a lot of time in both of those states, and I don’t want to move out of the mountains. I would love to actually live right smack in the middle of the mountains versus being at the foot like we are now.
I think I’m going to do some research on realestatebook.com. The site is ran by the people who publish the Free homes magazine that you may see outside your local grocery stores or gas stations. I pick these up from time to time to see what’s in our area, but the website is a great resource if you’re considering moving to another state or area like we very well may choose to do.
