Duh!

As soon as I wrote my last post I thought to myself “Hey self. You know exactly why your Woot order’s take so long to arrive. They use smartpost.”

And it all made sense!

That’s also one reason why I don’t mind waiting a little longer for my package to arrive. If you don’t know what Smartpost is, it’s FedEx’s way of trying to cut costs to the consumer. You can read about it here. Basically your FedEx package is delivered to USPS, and then your mail carrier drops it off just like your normal mail.

After all of Christine’s troubles with FedEx I really don’t mind letting them turn my packages over to USPS. I’d like to point one thing out to FedEx though. On the smartpost site they say that it minimizes shipping times. It happens to be the opposite with me. Anything that ships to me smartpost seems to take at least a few days if not a week longer. Oh well at least it’s cheaper and my packages do arrive safe and sound.

I have used DHL once. No problems. But I LOVE UPS and will only use the little brown trucks! I use USPS when sending something small. But I just prefer UPS…..
