Hubby Did It!
I just found a flea, and I’m not happy about it.
Bubba’s been scratching all night, and normally that’s a sign his mange is flaring up or he’s picked up some flea dander. Hubby took him for a ride yesterday to a friend’s house, and he’s been scratching ever since. Hubby knows how particular I am about making sure all other animals around him are kept up on their flea treatments or I don’t allow them around him.
I called hubby and asked if he’d been around any other animals other than Alley yesterday, and he confirmed that our friends just got a new puppy. That explains the flea. The puppy is too young to be treated with most flea meds and hubby totally wasn’t thinking when he let Bubba play with it.
I’ll have to send hubby by the vet’s office after he picks up the Blazer today because I’m out of Capstar, and we’ll have to give him one a day until he gets his Promeris in a couple weeks. I need to make sure he picks up our next round of Promeris as well because we’re out. I’m really loving how well the Promeris is working. Bubba is 100% completely off the mange medications now! We’ve saving almost $200 a month, and he’s a healthy happy boy again! He’s eating normal, and not once have I seen him completely ignore his food like he used to do before he would have a big breakout.
Yeah sure we still see a few spots occasionally, but he’s tested negative for every one of his mange scrapings, and there have been no big breakouts. He’s got one spot on his hind leg right now, but it’s about the size of a pencil eraser, and we’re keeping it under control without medication.
Anybody who’s got a dog with mange problems whether it be demodectic or sarcoptic I highly recommend talking to your vet about switching to Promeris as your flea treatment. Seriously not only is it working better than any flea medications we’ve tried, but we really have seen a drastic change with the mange.
