Still Playing With Plugins

I know I promised a list of the new plugins I’m using that I’m loving, but please give me some time. So far I haven’t been happy with many of the ones I’ve tested, so I really have nothing to report. I’ve tried 5 different Twitter plugins, and none of them have worked.

The last Twitter plugin I had to try happens to be one that Easy WAHM Websites posted about this morning. I’ve just finished installing the plugin, so if you found this post via Twitter I would say the plugin is working! If not, I’ll try again with another one.

I am happy to report I’m liking the Blogrush Click Maximizer Plugin. I installed it a few days ago, and I like how it works. It gives you the option to change exclude a post from your Blogrush listings directly from your write post page. The plugin also allows you to set a separate title that will be used only in Blogrush. I don’t know how well it’s working based on click results from Blogrush yet, but I do like the fact that it gives me an easier way to exclude posts.

My Entrecard Dropping Method

As much as I enjoy Entrecard and my fellow droppers I just wanted to let everyone know that I will not be joining the “U Drop I Follow” campaign. As much as I would love to, I just don’t have the time to sit here everyday dropping cards. I’ve found that if I actually chisel time out of my schedule to drop cards, I won’t drop very many. I visit a blog to drop a card, and I start reading a post. I find it interesting, so I end up spending another hour looking back through older posts. By the time I’ve finished looking over that blog my time I’ve set aside to drop cards is up.

If I were to make myself set aside the time to drop cards back to everyone who has dropped one on me I have to hurry through the blogs, and I would never see the actual content you have to offer. Wouldn’t you rather I actually take the time to enjoy reading your blog versus stopping by for a few seconds to leave you 1 measly card?

I do promise if I’m reading your blog directly from your site, and I see your Entrecard box I will drop my card. For those of you who are on my feed reader, I’m trying to drop by to drop at least one card every few days, but sometimes I just don’t have time to do much more than read your articles via Sage or Bloglines (depending on where I am at the time).

I do still love you all though.

Messing With Plugins

Over the next few days I’ll be testing out a ton of plugins here on Everyday Randomness. I’ve found a whole bunch of new ones I want to check out, but that means things might change around here. If anyone notices anything not working or just looking “off” please feel free to let me know. I’ll also be trying out a few twitter plugins in hopes of finding which one is right for me.

I’m going to try to check out a few of the plugins I have on my life tonight, and then if I find any I like I’ll try to share them tomorrow. I won’t be around much tomorrow since I’m going shopping with a friend to help her find some maternity dresses and some furniture for her baby room. She wants a baby bed like this one, so we’re going to try to find it locally, but I’ll try to get a list of plugins up as soon as I get home.

Refinancing The Autos

I’m so psyched right now. I spent a majority of the evening with hubby seeing a movie, but then I came home and decided to go over bills. I’ve been trying to cut down on our payments for awhile now, and I’m doing a really good job of it.

I’ve wanted to refinance our vehicle loans (car and bike) for awhile now, and I finally got hubby to give me the information I needed so I could submit our requests for those. I decided since we were approved for a loan with Road Loans, I would try to refinance through them. We didn’t use the loan when we were approved because of hubby’s messed up situation with his job and how he receives his checks. Even though we were approved we were going to have to jump through hoops to show our income because they wouldn’t accept the fact that hubby had both 1099 and W-2 income that month. Now that we’ve fixed that situation, we don’t have to worry about it anymore.

I’m crossing my fingers we get approved for these refinances because it will drop our interest rate on the Blazer from 22.99% to 8.59% and the bike from 13.99% to 8.29% I really can’t complain about that!

Now that I’m finished going over bills and doing all these extras I need to sit down and make out my grocery list. I’ve got a little extra cash this week so I’m going to stock up on cleaning supplies like disposable gloves, a new mop, trash bags, and stuff like that. It might not be spring yet, but I’m in the mood to totally clean my house out and scrub.
