He Brought It Home With Him

Hubby had a horrible day at work today.  He came home extremely upset because he basically had to fire two guys.  He didn’t do the firing, but he was the one with all of the information.

See he’s the crew leader, and he’s basically 2nd in command to the boss when it comes to their job site.  If something is wrong it’s his job to fix it.  He’s got two guys that were taking pills on the job.  Of course it was seriously causing problems with their work, and it was making an already dangerous job site even more dangerous.  You can’t have two guys messed up on pills operating saws.

He had a talk with the boss about it yesterday, and the boss had a talk with the two guys telling them basically they were walking on thin ice and if they came to work messed up again they were gone.  I’m surprised he even gave them another chance, but he did.  This morning one of the guys showed up ranting and raving getting in hubby’s face accusing him of ratting him out.  Everyone on the crew made it a point to tell the guy that everyone of them said something to the boss.  Even the two electricians from another company called their boss to complain about him.  Dude shouldn’t have been doing drugs of any kind on the job site in the first place!

So this guy started picking fights with everyone on the crew, and it turned into a big mess.  Two of their best guys quit because they said they couldn’t work with this guy.  After 3 hours on the phone with the boss and the two other guys the situation was finally worked out.  The pill poppers are fired, and the other two guys agreed not to quit, but it made it an extremely rough day for hubby.

What does all that mean?  He carried the attitude home with him, and he’s been on my case about everything and anything all evening and night.  His temper is riled up good, and I’m doing everything I can to avoid him for the time being.
