Everyone who knows me knows I donate to charities as often as possible. It’s not because I feel obligated to do so. It’s because I feel like even if I can only afford to give $5, that’s $5 to help someone somewhere in need.
I just donated to another charity, and this one is kind of special to me because of the situation. Hubby’s cousin, Mannetta, sent us a letter letting us know she’s training to run a half marathon. She’s running this marathon for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training.
She has set 2 goals for herself.
1. The cross the finish line of the Rock N Roll Marathon in San Diego on June 1st and
2. To raise at least $4600 for the foundation.
Why is she doing this? Her 5 year old nephew was diagnosed with Leukemia in October of 2006, and he’s still fighting his battle.
Why am I writing this post? Because Mannetta has almost reached her goal. As of the time of this post she has currently raised $3190.00 of the $4600 she has set the goal for. I would love to see her raise much more than $4600! If you would like to donate to this wonderful cause you can find her Team In Training donation page here. Every donation is 100% tax deductible.
