Switching Medications

I’m kind of surprised how quickly I made it out of the doctor’s office this morning.  Normally when I go to Urgent Care it’s not urgent at all.  I can sit there for hours waiting to be seen, but I was lucky this morning.  That’s probably because we were sitting in the parking lot waiting for them to open, and I threw up twice while Hubby was filling out my paperwork.  The nurse decided to take me on back so I didn’t have to keep running into the public bathroom.

I wasn’t throwing up because I’ve got anything stomach related.  I just have a very weak stomach, so when all this stuff is draining into my stomach I end up puking it back up.  Nice, huh?  lol

I got my antihistamine shot, and the doctor gave me a few samples of Zyrtec, and told me it would probably be best for me to switch.  I’ve been on Allegra, but it’s just not working for me anymore.  He told me I’ll probably be really sleepy on the Zyrtec at least for a few days, but I can handle that.  When I feel like this I stay really tired anyway.

Anywho if things don’t start clearing up for me by the end of the week he said I might have to start weekly allergy shots again.  I seriously hope not because I hate them.  I’m not scared of shots or needles, I just hate having to get a shot every week for something as lame as allergies.

On My Way To The Dr

Good morning everybody. I want to apologize to the two of you who I promised to help with computer stuff last night. I finally took some meds that knocked me out cold, so I did get to sleep finally. I’ve been up struggling to breathe with this shit for a couple hours now, so Hubby decided it’d be best for me to go get an allergy shot this morning. I hate them, but my allergies have never caused me breathing problems before and I don’t like it. I’m waiting 5 more minutes for Urgent Care to open so I’ll talk to everyone when I get home if the shot doesn’t knock me back out.

Food & Hand Guns

Friday night we stopped by to see my friend Kasie. She’d just been to a cooking convention with her mom, and she asked me to come over to check out some of the cool stuff she got at the convention. I keep telling her she should have went to culinary school because this girl loves to cook, and she’s awesome at it.

While I was checking out her new cooking goods, Hubby was checking out the newest gun her boyfriend purchased. He’s a gun collector, and he has a really awesome collection…locked up in a very expensive safe for protection I might add.

Kasie mentioned to me she had also purchased a new gun that I should check out. It’s a .22, and it’s one of the coolest smaller hand guns I’ve seen in a long time. Since she makes a lot of trips to Atlanta by herself for work, she has a permit to carry concealed. She already has one handgun, but she’s afraid to keep it in her purse because she thinks the stuff in her purse could end up bumping it and making it fire if it’s cocked and loaded.

The new .22 doesn’t have anything that can stick out in the way and get hooked on something like a keyring or bumped by anything when it’s loaded. She can stick it in her purse without worrying about it going off.

That had me thinking about my mom. She has a permit to carry concealed as well, and when she had to travel she always takes her gun with her. She’s got a very nice 357 magnum, and thankfully she’s never had to use it, but she’s got it if she needs protection. She absolutely would never keep it loaded in her purse, but she still carries it if she’s going to be traveling.

I still haven’t bought my mom a Mother’s Day present yet, so I might just talk to Hubby about ordering her one of these if I can afford it. I think it’s a great idea for a present.

I’m definitely going to show these to Kasie, too. I bet it would give her a little more piece of mind knowing she has a built in compartment especially for the gun.

Sandpaper Throat

I feel like I spent last night sitting in Death Valley screaming at the top of my lungs. Ya know I can handle itchy eyes. I can handle the sneezing, runny nose, or stopped up nose even. I can handle the headaches, but good god I can’t stand it when my throat and the roof of my mouth feel like someone fed me razor blades and sandpaper.

Thankfully I don’t have any customers lined up today, so I shouldn’t really have to talk much. If someone calls me I know how to ignore the call. I’m debating on walking up to my Grandparent’s to get some of Nana’s good ‘ole Rock n Rye cough medicine. If that shit doesn’t know this stuff outa me I don’t know what will.

Attack Of The Shower Curtain

Have you ever been attacked by your own shower curtain? Nothing surprises me anymore in this house, and I had to admit I have been attacked by even my shower curtain a few times. I don’t know what it is about our bathroom, but when you’re in the shower the curtain gravitates towards you. No matter how hard you try to keep it stuck to the inside of the tub, it ends up under the water with you.

I do have a funny story about the shower curtain attacking me. Just a few weeks ago I was taking a shower, and Bubba, the pervert bulldog he is, did what he always does. He pawed at the curtain until he moved it enough to stick his head in the shower. He’s scared of actually getting in the tub, but if you’re in the shower, he wants to stick his head in there with you.

Well when he pawed at the curtain, he moved it far enough for it to get sucked under the spray. At this point I had shampoo in my hair and face wash on my face, so I had my eyes closed. I couldn’t see what was going on, but I felt something touch me. The next thing I knew the shower curtain was wrapped around me, and I was flailing my arms trying to get it off me, but every time I hit it, it would fly back because of the weird suction our shower creates under the water. I couldn’t open my eyes because I knew I’d end up with soap in them, so I finally had to yell for hubby to come save me from the shower curtain!

Times like that I really wish I had a ShowerBow. It’s an attachment for your shower curtain rod that ads a counterweight to tip the shower curtain out away from you. This creates a ton of extra space inside your shower for you while still keeping the curtain snug against the bottom and sides of your tub to prevent water from making it’s way outside of the tub. Unlike the curved rods that are on the market, when the Shower Bow isn’t in use it isn’t taking up extra space!

Now that I’ve told you about the shower curtain attacking me, I’ll definitely have to fill you in on the real story behind how I cracked my arm! Stay tuned!
