Natural Beauty
I got a few more shots of flowers yesterday, but when I finally got them uploaded to my computer a few minutes ago I realized all the shots came out really horrible. One looks pretty cool just because the suns rays are shining down on top of the azalea bush, but it ruins the actual shot of the flowers. I’ll try to take some more pictures tomorrow.
For now I’m admiring the beauty that is the Shangri La Gardens and Nature Center in Orange, Texas. I’ve never been to Texas, but if Hubby and I ever get a chance to visit his uncle who lives near there, I’d definitely like to
stop by Shangri La Gardens. We have the Clemson Botanical Gardens here, but it’s no where near as beautiful as the photos I’m seeing from Shangri La Gardens.
You can see some of the beauty of this 252 acre botanical gardens in their photo album. I only wish I could live somewhere that looked at beautiful. What I really like is the fact that Shangri La Gardens has the U.S. Green Building Council’s platinum certification for LEED®-NC. They’re run a very eco friendly setting that is not only beautiful, but has a purpose.
The gardens contain over 300 species of plant life, but there’s more. Visitors can observe birds or participate in educational programs about plants and wildlife. I love stuff like that, and I only wish the botanical gardens here could be as great.
I really hope we do have the opportunity to visit Hubby’s uncle sometime in the future. I would love to take a trip to Texas, and I would definitely love to see these gardens in person. Photos never do a place like this full justice. If you’re live in Texas or plan to visit Orange, Texas consider stopping by the Shangri La Gardens and Nature Center.
