Silence.

Quiet time doesn’t come often in this house, especially on a Friday night when we have friend’s over. So why is it so quiet tonight? I’m the one who has no energy tonight. I feel like I should have passed out hours ago, but my body just won’t let me. The fact that everyone else is quiet meant I had to go investigate.

What did I find? Hubby’s passed out on the couch, our friend is passed out on the love seat, Bubba is passed out on the other end of the couch, and Alley is passed out on top of one of our coffee tables. Yes, that’s right we have two coffee tables. One sits in the middle of the room as usual, and the other got pushed up against the wall to hold random junk. That’s besides the point though. The point is I’m loving how quiet it is tonight!

Eventful Day

Wow today was a busy day.  I planned to get a lot of accomplished today, but I got caught up this afternoon when my friend came over and told me if I hadn’t already seen in it I had to watch a documentary he just watched.  It’s another 911 documentary called “Loose Change”, but the entire documentary voices every single one of my thoughts about what really happened on 911 as well as a few other things I hadn’t thought about.  If you want to check it out, it’s on Youtube.  I’ve place it on my blog, but the full version is about an hour and 29 minutes.

After Hubby got home we took off to G Vegas to pick up his bike chain from Cycle Gear, and then we had to high tail it to see his little sis.  Today’s her 13th birthday, so we had to make a big deal out of it.  A girl only becomes a teenager once!

As soon as she unwrapped her present Tom the cat decided the tissue paper was his.  While the boys played video games in the background Tom posed for a few pictures.

He wrapped up in the tissue paper…

And fell asleep on us.  Man I want Tom’s life.  He’s got it so easy!

No Energy At All

No I’m not being lazy today.  I just don’t have much energy.  They took 3 vials of blood from me this morning, and I’ve just had a hard time recovering from that.  Normally I’m weak for a few hours, but I think with the sinus infection I have it’s just made me feel a lot worse.  I’ve spent most of the day lounging around.

I walked up to my Grandparent’s house for a late lunch with them, and that’s when I realized how weak I actually am today.  I decided to stay up there a couple hours, and since my mom carpools with my aunt to work I had her give me a ride home when she got there.

I didn’t get to see the doctor today since I just went to the hospital to have the blood work done, but I did call my doctor this morning.  I described the symptoms I’m having including the lump on my throat, and he believes this will be the time the test finally shows some results we can go by.  Even if the test comes back showing that I have the disease, I might not go on medication for it just yet.  It depends on how mild my case is.  If my thyroid is repairing itself and the medication is too strong,  the medication can actually cause symptoms that mimic the ones I’m already having.

I guess just cross your fingers.  No matter if I get put on the meds or not, I just finally want to know if I do or don’t have Hashimoto’s.  This has turned into one big waiting game that isn’t very much fun.

The Thought of Blood Work Actually Making Me Happy!

It’s another sleepless night around la casa.  That’s not exactly a bad thing tonight though.  My thyroid has been acting up all day, and I’m supposed to hit up the hospital for blood work in the morning.  As I’ve mentioned before the insomnia is a symptom of the thyroid problems I’m having.  If I have Hashimoto’s the insomnia as well as fatigue can be symptoms that my thyroid is all out of whack again.

The doctors haven’t been able to give me a sure answer yay or nay whether or not I have Hashimoto’s for the simple fact that the thyroid can repair itself in a matter of a couple of days.  I’m crossing my fingers and hoping that we’re finally getting a chance to get some blood work submitted before my symptoms go away.

I’m almost positive the insomnia is because of my thyroid tonight.  For the past few hours I’ve felt like I have a lump in my throat, and I’ve got a very noticeable lump on my the side of my throat right where my thyroid is.  I’m definitely in the middle of a thyroid attack.

I never thought in my life I’d be so happy to a. be having these problems and b. be having blood work in the morning!

Memories

Have you ever gone on a vacation that just stuck out in your mind as better than any other vacation you’ve taken? i did have quite a bit of fun this weekend, but I can’t really call that a vacation. It was a day trip.

The last few years we really haven’t taken many actual vacations. We take day trips here and there, a few weekend trips, but it’s been awhile since I went on a full blown vacation. That doesn’t mean I didn’t have just as much fun though!

The absolute best summer vacation I’ve ever had would have to be the trip we ever made as a family before my parents separated. We went to Pigeon Forge for a week, and I remember it so vividly. I was 17, and from that trip you would never have known my parents were having problems. We spent two days in Dollywood riding everything we could find (yes I love Dollywood more than Six Flags or Carowinds), we went to the Dixie Stampede, Gatlinburg, and tons of other places.

I went indoor skydiving which was awesome. I’m too scared to jump out of a plane, but inside a building was fun. They shoot you up on a cloud of air instead of falling from above. Then of course we headed to Cades Cove like we always did on our family vacations. I love seeing all the animals running wild, the old buildings, and just enjoying the atmosphere.

It was just a really great time, and the fact that it’s one of the last times I spent with both my parents on a trip, it’s something I’ll always remember.

I know my trip to Italy next year will be great, but I’m sure it won’t top a family memory. I’ll be going to Italy to visit a friend who recently moved there. It’s one of the destinations I’ve always wanted to visit, so I can’t wait! I’ll be booking everything in the next few months, so I may check out what deals I can find on DialAFlight. I’ve never been on a commercial airplane before, so it could be kind of scary.
This summer though my friend will be returning from Italy to spend a couple weeks with us. He’s definitely going to have to find flights to USA that are reasonably priced. Luckily he won’t need a rental car or hotel since we’ll pick him up at the airport, and he’ll be staying with us. I haven’t seen him in a couple years, so it’s going to be so much fun!
