I feel like I’ve been so slack with my blogs this weekend, but ya know what? I actually spent most of the weekend outside enjoying myself. I wasn’t stuck in front of the computer or in another room fiddling with something that needs to be soldered. I actually got out and enjoyed everything.
Even though I said previously that I’d probably be staying out of the pool on Father’s Day, I lied. I spent a good part of the day floating around and relaxing. We were playing around in the small pool though that my in-laws have, and I love that thing. They bought one of those Coleman Insta-Clip 6-Sided Screen Houses to go over the pool, and it’s awesome! It also works as a pool cover, so they didn’t have to invest extra cash in a separate one.
You can stay in the pool for hours without worrying about getting too much sun, having bugs flying all around you, or even worrying about the rain. It came a pretty good downpour while we were in the pool, but we stayed in without getting our heads beat to death from the big drops. We were chilling inside enjoying the rain falling all around us. Oh, and my favorite part is that when the sun is shining down through the tent top you’re still protected. It has UV protection built in! I didn’t have to worry about slathering on lots of sunscreen that got all icky in the water.
After a day of swimming my awesome sister-in-law, Sam, made my father-in-law’s favorite dinner, Chicken Parmesan. It was absolutely delicious, and I’m still so stuffed I can’t bring myself to eat anything else. I truly gorged myself.
When my dad finally made it home from the beach around 8pm we went to see him for a bit, but we didn’t do the whole Father’s Day thing with him. He decided he wants to go out to dinner next Saturday, so that works out great for us. I won’t have to pinch pennies to afford dinner out this week since I just dropped a ton of cash at the grocery store yesterday. If food prices keep going up I won’t be able to afford to eat!
