Here lately my Hubby has a major problem with socks. He can never find any. Why? He’s super picky, and he’ll only wear one specific type of socks, Hanes® Men’s Big & Tall Cushion Crew. The line has to run across the toe a certain way, they have to fit a certain way, there can’t be any spandex in the material or his feet feel slimy, blah blah blah.
Now, these socks come in a pack of 6 for about $12, and lately I find myself buying 2 new packs of socks every couple weeks. It’s not that the socks get lost or the dryer eats them. I do at least 1 load of laundry every single day, and I’m continuously throwing away socks. His brand new socks that he’s worn ONE time will be laying on the top of the pile with holes! I seriously don’t get it. How does he destroy a pair of socks after 1 use? It’s almost as if he’s riding the bike down the road in his socks dragging his feet on the ground! If only it were that simple to figure out.
I’ve tried buying his socks a size bigger, and that didn’t help. I’ve tried sneaking in a different brand, but he KNOWS. He won’t touch them. Saturday I went through every sock in the house, and I threw all his away. I bought 2 more new packs of socks Saturday night, and I also picked up a new pair of work boots hoping that might solve the problem.
It didn’t. I’ve thrown away 3 worn once pair of socks already this week for holes. I’m not talking about a small hole here or there. I’m talking about the entire bottom of his toes is ripped out. How the heck is he doing this?
Anyone have any suggestions on how to put a stop to this? I’m sick of dropping $24 every 2 weeks on new socks!
So what if the *new to me* couch we just got is totally ugly? That doesn’t mean I want little kitteh claws scratching up the awesome plushiness found below the ugly print! The couch has barely been used, and I feel like I’m melting when I sit on it.
When I laid down today because of my headache I napped on the couch. I swear it’s 10x more comfortable than our bed. I can’t seem to convince Hubby to try out the actual couch bed portion, but I’m scared to try it out myself. I know how uncomfortable those things can be even if it is a brand new mattress.
Alley doesn’t scratch our old couches, but I think that’s because he just doesn’t like the material. Plus he’s got a scratching post that he adores…until now.
I’ve found a few kitty claw marks already on the back of this *new to me* couch, but the little guy has been quick to run off before I could catch him in the act…
Until now!

Isn’t that print just absolutely hideous? The flowers are bigger than my kitteh! I’m sure he thinks he’s probably improving it by scratching off the horrible flowers, but I had to put a stop to that real quick!
Thank god my super awesome slipcover is scheduled to arrive tomorrow, and I didn’t even have to bite my tongue and order it from Walmart. Overstock.com had it for $30 cheaper, plus I had a coupon that saved me an extra $10!
I received my latest Startup Schwag bag today, and this month’s t-shirt is for Disqus.

Now I can’t go rockin’ a Disqus t-shirt without checking out the service, so I signed up. Disqus is a blog commenting system that is supposed to help boost your blog community by giving you an interactive commenting setup. Disqus also provides a type of community where people can comment on your blog posts without actually visiting your blog…or so that’s the way it seems.
With Disqus, your readers aren’t just leaving comments — they’re participants in a discussion that you’ve started.
This is made possible with threaded conversations that are easy to follow and join.
And, of course, it integrates right within your blog.
Commenters on the go? Receive and reply to the discussion from anywhere with email and mobile posting.
It looks cool to me, so I decided to give Disqus a try on Everyday Randomness. At first it all seems a little confusing, so there’s a tour that gives you a little more info.
I just signed up for an account and added the Disqus plugin to this blog. There are also options for other blog platforms (even blogger!) if you’re not a fan of Wordpress. If anyone would like to help me test this out just leave a comment on this post. I chose to only add Disqus to posts that are new or don’t already have any comments. Until I figure out if I like the service or not, I’m not going to possibly screw up older comments.
Now that my headache has been gone for a few hours I feel like I have all this energy and nothing to do with it. I started my chores that didn’t get completed today thanks to the headache. I’ve got a load of laundry in the washer, another one in the dryer, and one load I just folded. I threw a load of dishes in the dishwasher, and I cleaned the bathroom.
Now I’m just bored. I thought about playing Sims 2, but that would mean having to reinstall it on this pc since my gaming pc is down at the moment. I still have the original Sims on this one, but bleh, it’s just not as much fun.
I thought about reading, but I don’t have any books I haven’t read at least twice. None of them seem appealing to me. I can’t find a movie on that I feel like watching, going back to sleep is out of the question, and I’m finally caught up on all my work that’s been hounding me the past few days.
I’m just plain bored!
