Alley Is Injured

We just got home, but Alley is definitely staying overnight. The vet said the puncture is too big to be another cat, more likely it was a small dog. We’re lucky he doesn’t have any internal injuries from the typical shaking a dog normally does, but Alley probably escaped before the dog had a chance to do that.

He’ll be going into surgery at 4pm. Lucky for him it’s a pretty clean slice except for the 1 puncture mark. He’ll stay overnight for observation, and we’ll pick him up tomorrow afternoon if all goes well.

This pisses me off because I’ve called animal control twice this month about a stray beagle that’s running around, and they’ve yet to pick him up. It’s not like the dog hides. He lays in my driveway most days, and he is extremely friendly to humans. Dr. Dunnagin agrees it was probably the beagle that did it, and Alley probably let the dog approach him because he’s used to dogs…having Bubba as his house mate and all.
