Finally, I’m home! I’m waiting for all my email to download, about 2 days worth with at least 600 messages a day, then I’m headed to bed. It has definitely been a tiring day.
The funeral was a beautiful service, and the weather was perfect when we went graveside. Yesterday was freezing cold and rainy, but today was absolutely beautiful. It gave everyone the opportunity to mingle giving condolences for a few minutes.
After the service we were invited back to the family’s house for dinner. Hubby and one of the sons have been best friends since they were in high school, so of course when he asked we couldn’t refuse. We weren’t planning on staying too long, but once everyone started sharing stories about TP we couldn’t tear ourselves away. We all had a good cry, then we had a good laugh. We celebrated the life he spent with us, and we all know he’s in a much better place now without the pain and suffering. Even though we had planned to leave around 6, we ended up leaving around 9:30 instead.
We then had to go by Hubby’s parents house, and we ended up staying there for an hour. I’ve been home maybe 30 minutes now, and it’s definitely time to snuggle up next to Hubby under our down comforter. I miss my bed, and I miss my sleep.
