Some days I wish I could just take a vacation from my life, just escape for a day, and today I kind of did. My vacation involved curling up in bed on a rainy day with Hubby, and staying there.
Hubby came home from work around 10:30 this morning because of the rain, and he was soaked to the core. He hopped into a shower then straight into bed to warm up. I was trying my best to get some work done, but my internet was being funky. I finally got the blinking light of death that told me my net was down, so after a quick phone call to Charter to discover an outage in our area I decided to curl up in bed with Hubby.
I wasn’t planning on sleeping although I’d been up all night. I wanted to stay up all day and flip my schedule, but as usual that didn’t happen. Hubby was watching some tv show about vegas hotels, so I pulled the blanket over my head, snuggled in close, and drifted off into a deep sleep. Hubby apparently drifted off into nap land himself, and he woke me up around 3:30pm when he was crawling out of bed. My mind immediately picked up on the sound of the rain coming down hard on the air conditioner in the window, and that helped me drift right back off into a deep sleep. I can’t wait to get our tin room installed in the Spring.
I woke up again around 6:30pm to Hubby hauling in grocery bags. He said the rain and the cold weather made him want some hot chocolate, so he decided to make a trip to the store. While he was there he went ahead and picked up a few extra things so I can make my “Gut Bomb Chili Soup” sometime this week.
I got out of bed long enough to help him put groceries away and check the status of the modem. Nope, still down. Hubby made us some hot chocolate while I made some sandwiches, and we headed right back to bed. I stayed curled up there watching tv until he drifted off again around 9.
I just wish everyday could be like today. A girl can dream can’t she?
