Birthdays Abound
I spent a majority of the morning rolling around in bed with a pillow over my head wishing my headache would go away. It didn’t work. :-/ More and more lately I’m getting those pressure headaches that hit me when the weather starts to change. It rains for a bit, the rain moves out, and my headache goes away. I can deal with the headache. I’m just glad I’m not hanging my head over the toilet anymore.
I’ve got a lot I have to get done this afternoon because we’re having a birthday party for my father in law as soon as the boys get home from work. It’s actually a “throw 3 birthdays into one party” dinner for my sister in law, father in law, and myself, but we’re mainly gearing it towards my father in law. We’re going to order lots and lots of barbecue and hang out as a family for the evening.
I’m so happy because the gifts I ordered arrived today, too! Now I don’t have to complain about them not showing up until next week. I spent plenty of time on the phone with What On Earth yesterday. They refunded me the extra shipping I paid, then they checked to see where my stuff was.
The one package that has already shipping, I’ll have to wait until Monday for that one to arrive, but the other two hadn’t been shipped yet. They promised to overnight those to make up for the shipping mistake even after refunding my shipping charges. We got it all worked out, and both packages were on my door step by 1pm!
The amount of packaging they used is quite ridiculous. Both items could have easily fit in the biggest box with plenty of room to spare even after all the air packaging, but they still chose to ship them separately. They put a t-shirt in another huge box and filled it with peanuts. I hate when companies way overdo the packaging. If they want to charge me extra for the shipping, do it anyway. Just don’t waste so much!
At least I can reuse everything. I save the packaging peanuts and use them to re-mail things, and the boxes are going to be a great size to wrap some Christmas presents in. Now I have to go on a search for some non-Christmas wrapping paper. I know I have some around here somewhere, and if I don’t get these gifts wrapped now I’ll forget all about them!
