Throwing It Out

Whew. This weekend is going to be one full of nothing but cleaning. That’s what we’ve been doing all day. We started with the utility room that’s full of junk, and we hauled off as much as we could. We can’t get rid of a lot of the big stuff like broken furniture because that stuff has to go directly to the landfill, but the landfill isn’t open on the weekends. It closes at 4pm during the week, so Hubby’s just going to have to take some time off work one day to haul it all off.

Then we moved onto the guest room aka the junk room. You wouldn’t believe the boxes of stuff we’re getting rid of. We’ve already hauled 1 trailer load of junk off to the recycling center, and Hubby’s on his way to Goodwill with another load right now. We’ve still got half the junk room to go through, and I haven’t even hit the closets or attic yet.

Hubby is such a pack rat. He keeps everything. I mean we’ve got a junk pile of old car parts down behind the house that I try to keep out of sight because it’s bad enough we already look as redneck as we really are with the junk cars in the yard. I don’t want even more car parts laying around.

Hubby’s best friend came over today to help us clean out the junk and he finally convinced Hubby to get rid of all that stuff. I’ve tried to tell him many many times we could take it to the scrap yard and bank some cash off it, but when does he ever listen to me? :-p Then his best friend suggests it, and he’s all for it. As soon as they get back from Goodwill they’re going to haul all that stuff to the scrap yard. I bet we’ve got close to $500 laying around in scrap metal. Hmmm I wonder if I can scrap that old ski machine exercise thing I don’t use. It’s worth a shot!

Speaking of exercise, I’ve been thinking about getting myself back into some sort of exercise routine and adding some Leptovox or something to the mix. Heck with being sick last week and working my butt off today I don’t think I’m going to need it. I feel like I’ve lost 5lbs already. If we can keep this up the extra pudge should melt away.

Hey your lucky your husband helping you. I tried to get the husband to clean out the room beside us and well he took i think 5 trash bag down to the back porch and said he was done. Barely made a dent in it. It will probley be another month before he touches the room again

LOL! It took me a year to get him to do this, and even then I had to bribe his best friend into helping. Once I convinced the best friend he kicked Hubby's butt in gear!

Well its been a whole 8 months for him just to take the 5 bags downstairs, even though i took 4 bigger trash bags (since they were all in trash bags already) downstairs. This Wednesday I'm making him take more trash bags downstairs lol.
