Filled Under: Rant, Shopping

Remind me again why I let Hubby convince me to go there today?

Oh yeah we needed an oil change. Our normal place is closed on Sundays, but we were long over due for one and had no choice but to fight the crowds. At least that was his excuse.

We dropped off the Blazer around back and found out we’d have a 45-50 minute wait. Hubby decided if we had to wait that long we might as well get our groceries at Walmart since we were already 30 minutes away from our house and 45 minutes away from Ingles.

Bad Idea.

First of all I already hate Walmart. Secondly I hate grocery shopping at Walmart because their grocery prices are NOT cheaper. In fact most things are more expensive at Walmart than at our local Ingles. Last but not least it’s the freakin’ Holiday season. Walmart was a freakin’ madhouse.

After fighting through the hordes of people for 10 minutes just to get a buggy we headed off to the grocery section in search of a few things. I told Hubby there was no way I was fighting that madness to do all my grocery shopping, so I’d just find us something cheap and simple for dinner.

I squeezed through to the frozen goods to grab a couple frozen dinners for tonight while he waited at the end of the isle with the buggy. I grabbed 2 Michelina’s out of the freezer then promptly had the door slammed shut on my arm because some woman was trying to heard her brood of umpteen kids through the already slam packed isle. I, of course, said a few choice words when the freezer door was slammed on my arm, and she felt the need to yell at me for saying such “nasty things” in front of her children.

Ya know, normally I try my best to watch my language in front of kids, but I cannot be held accountable for what slips out of my mouth when a freakin’ freezer door is slammed on my freakin’ arm!

I popped off at her in a smart ass tone, which I probably shouldn’t have done, but I felt like my throbbing arm gave me an excuse. I let her know I didn’t appreciate the door being slammed on me, if she’d wait just a second I would be out of her way, and did she really want her kids to see her acting like such a child? She shot back with “Well you were in my way!”

I felt like punching the bitch right in front of her umpteen kids, but I kept my cool and tried to walk away. Oh no, not going to happen. She slammed her fucking buggy into me as I tried to slide between her and the freezers then proceeded to yell at me to get out of her way.

A store clerk just happened to be pushing his way down the isle in time to see her slam the buggy. I guess he heard her screaming at me as she was loud enough you could have probably heard her half way through the grocery section. He grabbed the woman and pulled her away from the buggy. He questioned her about what was going on, and a couple more people who had been watching us started filling him in. After he heard what had happened, he pulled out his radio and called for security. They escorted the woman out the door and told her not to come back!

Another clerk asked me if I wanted to have my arm checked out, and I explained to her it really was okay. I was more pissed off at the fact someone would actually do that, and the throbbing was subsiding. I’m sure the clerk was probably freaking out because there are so many people out there that would sue the store over something like that. Not me. I totally don’t hold the store accountable for something some bitch customer did.

The store clerk then asked me how much shopping I had to do, and I explained I was about done and just waiting on our vehicle to get out of Tire & Lube. She asked what name the car was under, and said she’d have a discount applied to our shopping. On our way back to Tire & Lube I stopped in electronics to grab a card reader before I forgot again, swung by the pharmacy section to see if they had any Orovo since that side of the store was dead, and then I grabbed the Shark Cordless All-Surface Power Sweeper I’ve been wanting.

We checked out with a nice 15% discount applied to our total purchase (thank you sales chickie Julie), and decided to just sit down and wait the extra 20 minutes for the Blazer.

Now, I ask you to top that for a regular non Black Friday shopping trip to Walmart! Our shopping trip wasn’t even that bad on Black Friday!

It's Wal*Mart. Could have been worse. You could have been trampled to death.

So very true, and that was so sad. That's one reason I'll never go to a store that's going to be packed out like that on Black Friday. Here it seems everybody avoids Black Friday and slams the store for the next month after.

It's just about too crazy to go out anywhere these days, and Hubby wonders why I like to do all my shopping online.

Love the video reply. I've been thinking about doing that to help me work on my video skills. I just need to hook my cam back up one day when I'm not being so lazy.

I just saw this plugin myself a couple days ago, looking at the Affiliatetips blog for Affiliate Summit. I installed it myself on something about harry, but hadn't gotten the threaded replies in yet too. :)

I love the concept myself for engaging readers even more, may not be as good for Google search engine rankings, but if the readers are happy and engaged that's probably more important. :)

I need to go to Walmart, but I don't like fighting the crowds. So your a brave woman. lol Also why I wait until after midnight to go to Walmart less people there.

    I totally agree.

I tried a bunch of different threaded comments plugins, but I could never get any of them to work. When I installed Disqus I knew there was no way I was going back to the old comment system. I especially love how I can move back and forth replying to conversations without having to leave my email. Plus everything is just so much easier to read.

I've actually seen commenting go up since installing the plugin. If someone's more concerned about a comment link than actually saying something useful, I don't want their comment anyway ;-).

You just reminded me I need to try to reinstall AIM again tonight. It's been all screwy, so I haven't been logging in. I get kicked every few minutes when I can login, but half the time it either won't let me login at all or won't send my messages through. Maybe I'll just convince Hubby to let me install Digsby on his pc while mine's down…yes again. *cries*

I prefer not to shop at Walmart at all, but sometimes you just have to. Next time Hubby says he just has to get the oil changed I'm going to tell him then he better do it himself or wait 1 more day. He used to refuse to let anyone else do anything to our vehicles including changing the oil. I guess he's just gotten lazy.

lol, your computer is down more than mine is. You got any other messengers? I have both msn and yahoo. and sorry about the other post, thought my first post got deleted. So i thought i would try again lol.

  13.  Heather Says:

This thing keeps deleting my post, unless its just on my side. I'll see if this one gets thru. I've been bored late at night with no one to talk to.

  14.  jshusterman Says:

They're not getting deleted. You just have to wait for me to approve them ;-).

I'm back on a sleep at night schedule again. Thank god because I've got to keep myself on that schedule for the holidays or I'll never make it through Christmas.
