The Official Announcement

I admit I haven’t done a great job at keeping my secret a secret, but that’s mostly because I haven’t wanted to.  I’ve wanted to tell the world, but Hubby and I agreed not to blog about it until we told all of our parents, mainly because I know my Dad and sister both have access to my blog, and I’m sure they wouldn’t appreciate finding out that way.

So yes, it’s official.  The parents have received the good news, and I can finally announce that we’ll be having our first child around the end of November.  It’s too soon to have an estimated due date yet because I’m not far enough along for the first doctor’s visit yet.  By my own calculations I’m guessing I’m starting week 6 right now.

I know many people choose to wait until later on in the pregnancy to share the good news, but we honestly just couldn’t do it.  Before we didn’t share the news, so when the miscarriage happened we didn’t have support from our family and friends.  We had to deal with it on our own.  This time we discussed waiting at least a few weeks to share the news, but we’re both extremely impatient, so we decided it best to go ahead and tell.  If anything does go wrong we’ll be greatful in knowing we have our family and friends to turn to for support.

I know my life is about to completely change forever, and I admit I’m still a little in shock.  I’m absolutely scared out of my mind and overjoyed at the same time.

  1. I’m so happy for you! What wonderful news for you and Ben 🙂 I know that you’re going to be a great Momma. I think an online baby shower would be fantastic!

  2. Oh congrats. Maybe I’ll send you something to. I always love going baby shopping. Hopefully someday I will be able to do that for me. Congrats again.

  3. Thank you ladies! I’m so excited, and I can’t wait. Cross your figures and hope for a beautiful healthy baby. That’s really all we can ask for.

  4. Haha my sister in law and I were discussing having an online baby shower just because so many of our family and friends live so far away. I think it’d be awesome! I will be adding stuff to my Wishpot account as I find things I like/need online. I’ve already started to add a few things, but my current list is more or less for me to keep track of what I like…like the 3 different cribs I have listed because it’ll take me forever to decide which one I like lol.

Right now anyone is more than welcome to send me anything that will help me sleep! Some women may get tired, but I’m back and forth between drop dead tired and insomnia.

  5. I knew it! I knew when you posted to Twitter the other day about a secret, what it was! LoL!

Congrats! I am so very happy for you, and yes, your lives are going to change forever, but for the better, I promise.
Being a mother has been the best thing I have ever done in my life. It is rewarding, it’s been educational, it’s been fun, and I have loved every single minute of it.

Once you get further along, I hope to see you have a wishlist on Amazon or something for baby supplies so we can all get you some things.
A first child is definitely a big deal, and those of us who “know” you, want to help celebrate this momentous occasion with you and your family by helping get some stuff.
We can have like an on line baby shower or something! That would be so much fun!
    Again, congrats! 🙂

  6. I’m so happy for you guys! Yes, you lives are about to change forever, but it’s in a good way. CONGRATS little mama to be!!!
