I try to learn something new everyday, and I guess today’s lesson is that I never imagined it would be so difficult to put together a baby registry. I put in my monthly order of pet supplies Bubba needs, then I headed off to try to finish my baby registry before my MIL fusses at me for being slack.
I’m having a hard enough time figuring out exactly what I want versus what we’re actually going to need. Throw in the fact that all of the registry checklists list umpteen things I’ve never in a million years heard of, and I think I’m spending more time trying to figure out what in the world something is instead of if I actually need it.
Then there’s the fact that half of the stores don’t carry the same items online and in store, so I find something I really really like only to realize it’s an online only item. Most of the people who will buy gifts for our baby don’t even know how to turn on a computer. Oh, and why is it when it comes to bedding sets stores like to sell the 4 piece set in the store, but all the accessories are online only items. After spending 2 weeks searching for a bedding set that could be purchased entirely in store I gave up because that doesn’t seem to exist. I settled for one we like with accessories and sheets that we can purchase online later if we would like.
This is why I hate shopping. It’s such a hassle, and I have such a hard time making decisions. When I shop I’m normally on a mission, and I know what I need. Otherwise I find myself running in circles with absolutely no clue what I’m doing.
Don’t I already have enough stress upon me worrying about everything else that goes with pregnancy and (ugh) the pain of delivery? Why does creating this list have to be such a stressful event?
