The next few days are definitely going to be hectic around here. I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow with the ob/gyn who performed my c section. My doctor refers all high risk patients to Mountain View, and since I ended up in the hospital as an emergency case Dr. Fox from Mountain View took me on as a patient immediately. Now I have to see him for a follow up in the morning not only to check on how I’m healing from surgery but also because of my Preeclampsia.
I am interested to see what my weight is. When I left the hospital I had already lost all but 10lbs of my “baby weight”, and now that I’m breastfeeding I’m interested to see how much I’m going to weight. Hey maybe I won’t have to consider buying any of the Kettlebell videos after all!
Anywho, Sunday I have a baby shower to go to. I ended up missing my first baby shower because I was in the hospital! Elliana arrived the day before the shower, so Hubby went in our place to accept all the wonderful gifts we received. My mom had planned a second shower from my side of the family for November 8, so I’ll get to attend at least one of my showers.
Then on Monday I have to have Elliana in Greenville for an MRI. She has a sacral dimple, and she had an ultrasound on it last week that was inconclusive. The radiologist said it’s closed and not leaking fluid, and they don’t think we have to worry about spinal bifida since she has full use of her legs, but no one wants to take a chance on not catching a problem that might exist. The pediatrician scheduled an MRI to get a definite answer as to whether her dimple is a sign of a problem or not. Most of the time a sacral dimple is harmless, but we’re not taking any chances.
Tuesday we’ll be right back at the pediatrician’s office to get the results of the MRI and for Elliana’s 2 week checkup. I can’t wait to see how much weight she’s gained by then seeing as how she packed on 6oz between Friday and Monday. My little piggy is fattening up, and you better believe I’m going to let her. She’ll be 5lbs before you know it!
So as you can see the next few days are going to be very busy around here in and out of doctor’s offices and what not. I’m still trying to avoid visitors (no offense to friends and family) right now because I just feel like it’s too risky to allow so many people around a preemie with the flu running wild right now. I don’t even like the fact that I have to take her out in public to go to the doc’s office…especially since that’s where you’re going to run into all the sick people. Thank goodness her pediatrician rushes all babies straight to a room setup in the back just to keep them away from the waiting room germs.
Anywho I’ve been rambling for quite awhile now, and the little one is starting to stir. I must get her fed and cuddle her while my wonderful Hubby cooks us dinner.
