Nutella Hazelnut Spread: A Big hit!

Today I hosted a Nutella party for Moms sponsored by Nutella Hazelnut Spread and Mommy Parties.  My family already loves Nutella, and we eat it all the time for breakfast and as a snack.  When I was given the opportunity to share the yummy goodness that is Nutella Hazelnut Spread with other Moms I was all for it.

After talking to a few of my Mommy friends we all decided it would be better if we did an afternoon tasting instead of a breakfast bar.  With our busy schedules it’s just much easier for everyone to get away from the house in the afternoon.  That actually worked out great because almost everyone who was invited was able to attend.  When I invited my Mommy friends I told them to bring along their families to also try Nutella if they liked.  Everyone ended up bringing their kids, some brought their husbands along, too!  I’m so glad I made a ton of food!

When everyone arrived I went over a few facts about Nutella.  I let all the moms know Nutella is a chocolate and hazelnut mix, there are 50-100 hazelnuts in each jar (depending on the jar size), and Nutella contains absolutely no peanuts.  In fact Nutella isn’t processed anywhere around peanuts, so if your child has a peanut allergy Nutella is a great substitute for peanut butter.  This yummy goodness in a jar is also free of artificial flavors or colors.

After I shared the nutritional information with the Mommies I gave them their gift bags.

Malese With Her Gift Bag

Each bag contained a sample of Nutella, some recipes, a jar scraper/spreader, and a Nutella travel coffee mug.  I explained that the coffee mugs are environmentally friendly.  They contain a special product that causes each mug to break down in 1-5 years when disposed of in a landfill.  I decided we wouldn’t use plastic disposable cups today.  Instead I pre-washed each mug, and the Mommies got to use them with their food!  When they were done everyone rinsed out their mugs and took them home.

Coffee Mugs

As for the food, we had whole wheat bagels with Nutella and strawberries/bananas depending on preference, Nutella Breakfast rolls (wheat tortillas with Nutella and fruit rolled up), Strawberries and Bananas to dip in Nutella (a huge hit), Nutella Wontons, and Nutella croissant bites.  Everyone loved all of the food so much that there isn’t a single bite left.  We almost scraped the Nutella jar clean!

Even the kids got into the action.  Ellie loves Nutella, and she wasn’t shy about showing it.  She ate until she was too full to fit another bite in her little tummy.  She even ended up with a spoonful of Nutella to lick a few times.  Even our friend’s super picky toddler ate himself silly.  He had quite a few strawberries and bananas with Nutella and part of a Nutella bagel.  The food was definitely a big hit with all the kids.

The husbands retreated outside to hangout for a bit, and all of us Moms found ourselves scraping the last few spoonfuls of Nutella out of the jar while we brainstormed over many different ways to incorporate Nutella not only into our breakfasts, but also into our recipes.  There were many ideas thrown around about cakes, icings, cheesecake, and even a fondue!  I’d say this party was a success.  We all ate great food, I got to introduce everyone to a product they hadn’t tried before, and we enjoyed ourselves with plenty of laughs and great company.  Plus I got a ton of ideas of how I can use Nutella even more in the future.
