Rearranging The Furniture

This weather has really been throwing us off, especially with Ben’s job.  He’s had to cut out a few hours early almost everyday this week because the heat got to be too much for them.  Oh the joys of working outside.  We’re supposed to get relief from the heat next week, but that’s not necessarily a good thing for the job situation because the cooler temperatures are coming with rain.  He’ll probably be working even less with a 50-60% chance of rain everyday.

At least he got a few hours in this morning.  By 10 it was getting too hot, and they decided to call it a day, but they went in at 6 so they could get a few hours.  Now that he’s home I hope he doesn’t think he’s going to relax because I’m about to put him to work!  At least he can enjoy the AC while knocking out his honey do list! LOL

I’ve been cleaning and rearranging things all morning, and now that I’m almost done breaking for lunch I’m ready to tackle our bedroom.  I really want to rearrange the furniture and do some deep cleaning, washing down walls and such, but I can’t move our heavy dressers and bed by myself.  I’m thinking about cleaning out my Mom’s antique chest of drawers that sits at the foot of our bed so I can give it back to her and replace it with a cabinet with one of those tv lifts.  We really don’t have a good place to put the bedroom tv on the wall, and I really don’t feel comfortable with the flat screen sitting on our dresser where Ellie could pull it over.  She doesn’t spend much time in our room, but you never know when she could try to sneak in there and the thing come crashing down on top of her.

I’m even more worried about it now that she’s sleep walking.  Last night was the second night I heard something and on my investigation I found her sleep walking.  So far she hasn’t made it out of her bedroom, but that doesn’t mean she won’t.  Then there’s the fact that she wakes up around 4am every morning and makes her way to our room.  I don’t want her stumbling into the dresser in the dark and knocking the tv off either.  I really do believe getting a cabinet with a built in tv lift is the answer, so I’m going to keep that in mind and plan for one as I’m rearranging the furniture.  Hopefully I can plan some time to shop for one tomorrow.
