We’ve been talking about taking a trip to visit some family we have in North Carolina for the holidays this year. We usually don’t go away for the holidays so this would be a first. There are a lot of changes coming in our lives that will make it hard to go anywhere next year, so we decided we should jump at the chance to visit while we can. Ben is in the process of changing jobs, so he won’t have any time off for awhile, and other things that are happening will make it hard to go anywhere until about this time next year.
I’ve been looking at places to rent, rental houses versus hotels, but I’m hesitant to book anything right now. What if I book a place, and then at the last minute we can’t go? A family member has already said we can stay with her, but I’ve never been to her house. I don’t know how much room she has or if it would work out with a 3 year old in tow. We may try staying there and if that doesn’t work use a Booking App on my phone to find something available in the area in real time.
It sounds like a good idea to me, but what do you think? Would you head somewhere without reservations if you could book a hotel room through a phone app once you arrived in the area? I like the idea because it gives you the ability to scope out hotels in the area and book something that looks nice. You don’t have to go on photos alone, and we all know sometimes the website photos are nothing like the actual hotel once you get there. I’m thinking this route is sounding better and better by the minute!
