The Ups and Downs of The Morning

We woke up this morning to a bit of good news followed immediately by some bad news.  Ben has been out of work since last Tuesday thanks to a screw up with the roof trusses order, but his boss called first thing this morning to say everything arrived and to head on in.

Yay he gets to go back to work!  He’s been driving me crazy all week with the exception of the time he’s spent working on the bike.  He finally finished putting the motor back together…again.  He was going to get it put back in the bike today before it rains, but he won’t have time.  That reminds me I need to find our waterproof motorcycle covers so he can get everything covered up when he gets home.

That’s the good news, though.  The bad news came in right after his boss called.  I got a call saying my Mom wasn’t feeling well last night.  She was diagnosed with Addison’s disease last year.  She wasn’t feeling well last night, so she decided to spend the night with my Grandparent’s.  In the middle of the night she started throwing up and passed out, so my aunt took her to the ER.  I found out this morning she is in a holding room waiting to be admitted because she’s got a kidney infection and very low blood pressure.  Because Addison’s disease is an autoimmune disease and I’m battling yet another stomach virus I can’t go down there.  My sister is in the same boat since her son is dealing with the same virus.  Thankfully my aunt was able to stay with her today, and hopefully the docs will get her taken care of soon.

So yeah, that’s how our day started.  I’m about to grab a snack and make a call to the hospital to check on my mom.  Then I’m going to scrub the bathroom down to try to prevent the spreading of anymore of these nasty germs we can’t seem to stop passing around.
