Dancing With The Kids and #Glowsticks

I received a free product from Super Bright in exchange for my honest opinions. Any questions should be directed to the seller of this product.

Some days we have to set aside the list of things to do and just have fun with the kids, and that’s exactly what we did Saturday evening. I’ve been promising Ellie we would have a glow stick party, so that’s what we did. It wasn’t super dark in the house, so we threw blankets over the windows in the dining room and turned the room into our own little party center.

We were provided with a 100 ct of Super Bright Longest Lasting Glow Stick Bracelets to try, so Ellie and I decided to do something fun with the glow sticks. They aren’t just for wearing! We set up our snack table then decorated it with glow stick garland. Then we decided to make a glow stick chandelier to hang over the table. We added a cup full of glow sticks, some already activated, and some to be activated throughout the night and threw some activated glow sticks down to help us find the food in the dark! Ben decided to reminisce about our younger years by playing one of our early 2000’s EDM playlists on his phone. The girls both love listening to “Mommy and Daddy’s old music”, and they danced their little hearts out.

I tried to get a photo of all the decorations, but I had a hard time keeping the chandelier from swinging as the kids danced around in the background.

The girls wanted to see the chandelier spinning, so Ben attached it to the ceiling fan. It looked pretty cool!

I was a little skeptical of these glow sticks after reading some the Amazon reviews. Others were complaining that they weren’t bright at all, arrived already activated, or broke easily. I’m happy to report these glow sticks were nothing like the reviews. Out of 100 we didn’t have a single dud. They were really super bright, and lasted beyond our dance party night. Most lasted a good 24 hours. We did have 2 yellow glow sticks break, but it wasn’t due to normal use. We’ll call it a death by toddler incident in which she tried to bite them open. Needless to say Aubrey didn’t get to hold anymore glow sticks!

I do believe monthly glow stick dance parties are going to become a new tradition in our house, at least in the Winter months when we’re stuck inside looking for fun activities!
