Aylee tagged me for a cute little quiz. This one’s all about how weird I am. Each player has to list 6 weird things about themselves. The rules also have to be stated clearly. When you’re done with your 6 weird facts, tag 6 more people and list their names. Don’t forget to comment the person who tagged you to let them know you’re finished so they can stop by your blog!

6 Weird Things About Me…

1. I’m left handed. Ok that’s not weird. What’s weird is I use my left hand for everything, but I have to use scissors with my right hand. When I was a child, we didn’t have the left handed kind of scissors. Oh, and I bat switch hit!
2. I can’t eat Ramen Noodles. I ate them so much in college that I get sick just thinking about them.
3. I’m scared of thunderstorms. I’m not just scared, I have an extreme phobia of them. I’m ok if someone is home with me, but if I’m home alone, I go to my grandparents when it storms.
4. I eat Cantaloupe with ketchup. Don’t ask me why. It’s something I picked up as a child, and I just love it.
5. I love tattoos, and I’ll be getting another one soon, but I’m 25 and never had my ears pierced. The thought of it makes me want to pass out.
6. I can’t touch raw meat. I want to put gloves on just to make hamburgers. If I have to cook with raw meat, I’ll use every utensil in the kitchen to pick it up just to avoid touching it.

Life Stories

I found this over at Sweet Memes. Here’s a quick way to share your life story!

Where were you in 1987? In school? Working? Single? Married? Attached? What was important to you? What were you doing creatively? Tell us a bit about your life then. I realize some of you were children then…all the better!

In 1987 I was definitely a child. Let’s see, I would have been 5….6 in November, and of course I started Kindergarten in September. I’m sure I was enjoying my last summer before I started school, but I was excited about school. Let’s see, I started kindergarten as a half day kid for 2 weeks, then loved school so much I made my mom put me in full day. I don’t know what I was thinking back then!

Where were you in 1997? What would you like to share about the nineties?

In 1997 I was in high school. At this time of the year I would have just finished up my freshman year. I was in full fledged raging horomone mode, getting in trouble for spending too much time with the boys. If I wasn’t chasing boys I was at home listening to my multiple Backstreet Boys CDs and hanging their posters on my wall. I was still a good kid though at 15/16. I didn’t get wild until the later teenage years.

Where did you plan to be or think you’d be in 2007? Have your realized your goals? What is one thing about your present life you love and one you’d like to change?

My life is definitely nothing like I thought it would be. My goals were to finish college hopefully with a degree in Biology, then I would either be on my way through med school or settled down with a kid or two. My main dream was always to be a mom, then career came second, if I had one at all. I’d prefer to be a stay at home mom, and I wanted a job where I could still work and stay at home with the kids.

Part of my dream came true. I’ve been married for almost 4 years to the most wonderful man in the world, but unfortunately, I’m not a mom yet. Hopefully in the next year or two I’ll have that joy. I didn’t finish the Biology degree, and I didn’t head on to med school, but I’m working at home doing something I love that I’ll be able to continue to do when I do have my little ones running around my feet.

How do you see your life in 2017? Do you have any goals or dreams for your future?

10 years from now I hope to have 2 kids, and a nice log cabin with plenty of land for the dogs to run around. I want hubby and I to be financially stable and enjoying our life with our family. Hopefully by then I’ll be able to say we have more than one bike, and that I’m riding full time as well. That’s something I definitely know will happen in 10 years, even with kids in the picture. I want our kids to grow up around motorcycles and learning to respect them. Hopefully one of our kids will be old enough for their first dirt bike by then!

Humping Away

If you’re looking for a fun little meme, check out Wednesday Mind Hump. I used to participate weekly before I moved my blog to my own domain, and now I think it’s just about time I get back into it, even if I am a day late!

  • Do you currently subscribe to any magazines? If so, which ones?
Right now I don’t subscribe to any mags anymore. I’m more of the shopping catalog type person.
  • What magazines have you subscribed to in the past?
Well, I used to subscribe to Teen, Teen People, and all of those, but I grew out of it. I bought hubby a subscription to FHM for awhile, but he’s really not into magazines.
  • What do you do with the little cards that always fall out of the magazine? Do you toss them, or have you found a use for them?
I used to use them as bookmarks! Hey, I try to recycle everything I can. You can cut one in thirds long-ways, wrap fabric around it, and it’s the perfect bookmark. It will bend but it’s still sturdy enough to hold up.
  • If you could start a magazine, what would it be about? Who or what would be on the cover of the first issue?
My magazine would definitely be all about female motorcycle riders, especially ones that participate in amateur racing. Of course, a lot of my issues would cover Deal’s Gap as well, so I would probably do a monthly segment about “the women of the Gap” or something like that. I would definitely put my friend Allison on the front cover, and most likely one of her pictures where she’s totally leading a pack of boys. Well, I might as well show an example!
