Silence.

Quiet time doesn’t come often in this house, especially on a Friday night when we have friend’s over. So why is it so quiet tonight? I’m the one who has no energy tonight. I feel like I should have passed out hours ago, but my body just won’t let me. The fact that everyone else is quiet meant I had to go investigate.

What did I find? Hubby’s passed out on the couch, our friend is passed out on the love seat, Bubba is passed out on the other end of the couch, and Alley is passed out on top of one of our coffee tables. Yes, that’s right we have two coffee tables. One sits in the middle of the room as usual, and the other got pushed up against the wall to hold random junk. That’s besides the point though. The point is I’m loving how quiet it is tonight!

Playing Catch Up

This weekend reminded me why I hate cramming what should be a full weekend trip into one day. I am still super exhausted. Add the trip Saturday and running around all day yesterday for Mother’s Day together, and I was one tired chickie. I ended up sleeping pretty much all day today, and I know “they” say you can’t really catch up on missed sleep, but sleeping all day sure did make me feel a lot better!

Right now I’m going through zeefoto.com and moonshinephoto.com because they’ve already got some of our pictures up. A friend of mine sent me some photos she took as well, so hopefully I’ll have those up soon.

She sent me one shot I just love. I’m still trying to figure out who took it before I post it, but it’s a photo of me in the Blazer followed by the Porche I was drooling over all day and Allison and Hubby are right behind on the bikes. Hubby made me transfer it to his phone last night so he can use it as his wallpaper.

Now I’m trying to wake myself up enough to get some work done. This house is an absolute wreck. On top of that I’ve got a friend here that I just setup on one of the other computers. He wants to buy a playstation 3, so he’s over here trying to find who has the cheapest prices. He’s already totally lost, so I have a feeling I’ll end up having to just look it up myself.

Oh well, I shall return!

Busy Beautiful Day

I know I’m awful quiet today, but for once I’m enjoying the great outdoors. It’s so nice today. It’s currently 78, and we’ll be pushing towards a high of 83 today, so I’m taking advantage of the beautiful weather.

I helped my Grandma plant some flowers this morning, and then I helped her weed two flower beds. I’m pretty sure I ended up pulling up more than just weeds, but hey I’m learning. I don’t think this Miss black thumb messed things up too horribly bad.

Now I have to make a few phone calls. Yesterday we noticed oil leaking from the valve cover on the bike. We’re about 700 miles away from the 28,000 mile service, so I’ve got to call to make an appointment with the dealership. Thank goodness everything is still under warranty, so servicing it and repairing anything on the engine like that is still free.

Most of the time I’m anti-extended warranties, but I’m glad we bought the extended warranty and the pit pass for the bike. The pit pass is $900, but it covers all servicing for the life of the bike. It paid for itself in less than a year since it costs $150 just for a basic service. That’s not counting any parts we’d need or the various oil and lubricants.

The extended warranty paid for itself the first week it went into effect. That’s when we blew the transmission and needed a complete rebuild. I don’t know what I would have done if I’d had to pay for that out of pocket.

Anywho, I’m off to setup the appoint. Then I’ve got to get in touch with my aunt. We’re supposed to go shopping today for stuff for her new house. I know she wants my opinion on curtains for her kitchen. I’m just hoping she wants to go early enough for me to swing by the bank. I need to deposit all the change I rolled this weekend!

Feel The Cool Breeze

You know how I said our AC wasn’t working?

*Sigh*

Never ask a man to do a job you can do yourself! Hubby didn’t get the backup unit in yesterday, so I started fiddling with the old unit again today trying to make it work.  I’ve asked Hubby countless times this week “Did you check the breaker box?”

Every time he’s told me yeah, I checked, it’s turned on.

Oh really?

I checked it myself this morning and lo and behold it was flipped off!  I pointed it out to him and he said “Oh that breaker box.”  The AC unit is a 220, so it’s got a separate box all to itself.  It’s located right below the main box, but he still totally overlooked it.

But yay!  I have AC again!  Just in time, too, because it’s supposed to be in the mid 80s all week.

The Missing Keys

I’ve been running around like a chicken with my head cut off this morning searching for Hubby’s keys.  Normally he puts them in the exact same place when he walks through the door, but for some reason last night he threw them down somewhere.

He was freaking out thinking he left them hanging in the front door or in the car, but that wasn’t the case.  His way of searching for them is to sit on the couch trying to think of everything he did last night.  My way is to search everything top and bottom until I find them, but after an hour we were still out of luck.

I decided to sit down for a minute before I took off searching again.  I pulled out out a bar stool to sit down and low and behold there were his keys laying right in the center of the bar stool.  Of all places to put them!

It’s always the last place you look. ;-)
