The well-meaning advice was tough to deal with even 20 yrs ago.
I held kiddo - A LOT. Especially first few weeks...was nothing for her to wake up for her every 2 hr feeding and me rock her and both of us fall asleep! Once she got old enough to try to scoot in the floor on her own, I held her less. It seemed OK then to put her down more LOL...but I was right beside her more times than not.
Of course, she is almost 21 now, eats & sleeps most of the time, stays up late watching tv or online or just talking to me, sleeps late some days, & I still love having her right with me. At least she outgrew the age-3-laying-on-the-floor-headbanging!

These little ones DO NOT come with a manual, although that would be a big help.
Rocking her is a precious gift that you have for only a short time, so enjoy it as much as possible.
I think you are doing a great job. And the diapers, Luvs were the only thing that helped my little one.

It'd be great if she takes the opportunity to make the belly cast, I make them for a living and the usual comment I get from mums to be is "I wish I'd made a belly cast". Even if she is having a hard time with the pregnancy, the belly cast as a creative outlet for those emotions & expectations will be cathartic.

It's horrible. It's even been all over the news about how outrageous power bills are right now for people on BR. They were interviewing people from agencies who have lines of people trying to find help to pay $400-500 power bills. Ours isn't the only one that seems way off, but when you call they refuse to really look into it. They even sent out a pamphlet this month that's total bs saying bottom line is this blah blah blah. I've got my letter to the AG written. I just need to get to the post office so I can send it certified. Somebody needs to be looking into it! We're on a freakin' co-op for Christ's sake! They're charging everybody to be charging!

I keep thinking about all the little old people on social security and stuff. Do they eat and freeze to death or pay their power bill and starve to death? Some of them live off $400-500 a month!
