I’m so happy with how awesome this weekend turned out. I think the benefit Saturday night was beyond what any of us imagined it could be. All the bands were great, and thanks to the beer truck (that was donated by a bunch of local bars) the Clemson students packed us out. We still don’t have a full count on the t-shirt sales, but there was over $8200 profit just from food and drink sales. We weren’t expecting to raise even half of that, so we all are extremely happy the benefit was so successful.
We were out so late Saturday night though that I slept away a good part of Sunday, and Hubby stayed curled up right beside me. The heat Saturday got to both of us, so we decided to take it easy Sunday. We went to see the adorable Baby JJ, then we had a cookout with the in-laws before we headed home and spent the rest of the evening playing Wii Monopoly
.
Yeah we were pretty lazy, but I’m making up for it today. I’ve been in Spring cleaning mode, and I’ve spent a majority of the day going through closets tossing random boxes of junk that I haven’t opened in 3 or 4 years. It’s exhilarating, and I’m headed off to toss some more junk. I want it all out!
It looks like I’ll be taking my phone back to Verizon. My new micro SD cards came in today, and none of them will lock in my phone. I’ve got 3 different cards, 2 different brands…one of those brands is considered an LG approved brand, Sandisk, and the other 2 cards are Dane Elec cards. That doesn’t matter though. All the cards are exactly identical in shape and size.
When I insert the cards into my phone, they won’t lock in place. I know I’ve heard it a dozen times, push it harder, you’re not pushing it in far enough, push down to make it lock…I’ve tried it all. I’ve been pushing the cards with tweezers for the last hour trying to get them to lock in my phone, but they won’t. I can hold the cards in place with my finger and the phone recognizes all 3 of them. The second I let go the cards shoot out of the phone.
It looks like the spring mechanism that pushes the card out when you want to eject it is broken, and instead of clicking into lock mode it’s just automatically pushing all the cards out without locking. Looks like I’m getting a new phone.
I was getting a little bit ticked over it, so I started looking up the same problem online. I found a whole slew of people having the same problem, not just with the vx9900 but with tons of different models of phones. I hate this itty bitty little cards. I was perfectly happy with the mini SD in my vx9800. The size was perfect, and I didn’t have to fight to get it in and out of the phone. The micro ones are just so hard to get into the phone in the first place, and it’s frustrating when it won’t lock in place at all.
It’s been a long day, but I’m happy to say we’re all packed up and ready to go. We’ll be at the beach through Tuesday, so you probably won’t hear much out of me. I’m sure I’ll be rambling away from time to time via my cell phone, so I may pop in with a few photos here and there.
I’m so ready to get on the road, but I have to wait until tomorrow morning. I bet I won’t sleep at all tonight. It’s been so long since we took a real vacation just for us that I’m like a kid on Christmas Eve.
We don’t have any set plans for what we’re going to do once we get there, but I know I do want to drive down to Beaufort. I haven’t been to the Highway 21 Drive-in theater down there in about 8 years, and I really want to go. Highway 21 Drive-in is one out of only two drive-ins in operation in South Carolina. At one time there were 79 drive-ins in South Carolina.
I love going down there, and it reminds me of how simple things used to be. Besides, unless you have your own personal home theater complete with home theater seating, where else can 2 adults see 2 movies for $10? We’re going to try to catch the screen 2 event which is The House Bunny followed by Pineapple Express. Hubby’s already seen Pineapple Express, but I haven’t. It should definitely be a fun night out and something great to do for our anniversary.
Anywho, I’ll see you all Tuesday! Everyone have a great weekend!
So little time to do it all. Man I am so not going to be packed and ready for this trip. I’ve been running around all morning trying to pull out things we need to take to the beach, but I’m running in circles. I pull out blankets that I think I should take, then I put them away again because I think they’re too thick to pack. I pull out shirts for Hubby, then I put them back in the closet because I know he’s going to complain that what I pack isn’t what he wants to wear. Ugh!
I give up. I’ll let him help me when he gets home whether he likes it or not!
Moving on, I was checking out Steve Miller Band tickets. I’d love to go to the concert Oct. 21, but in the words of Lisa, HOLY JEEBUS! I’m NOT paying those prices. Tix are going for $111 each for the cheap seats all the way up to $337. I’m sorry, but Steve Miller Band at Littlejohn is just not worth those prices.
Did I mention I’m ready to throw this keyboard out the window? The freakin’ keys are sticking on me, and I have to backspace a typo every other word.
Oh, and Rock Band 2 is officially out, and Game Stop is NOT sold out. You know what that means. If I’m mysteriously quiet tonight it’s because I’ll be over at Alli’s rocking out!
