Today I’ve been looking at my themes and realizing it’s about time for a change. I’ve been using the same themes for quite awhile on my blogs now, and I’m frankly getting a little tired of them. If you notice some whacky looking stuff going on over the next day or two don’t freak out as I’ll probably be testing some various things and changing my mind a lot!
Welcome to the world little nephew! Alexander showed up a little after 12:30pm today. I’m not exactly sure of the time as I haven’t made it to the hospital yet.
We’ll head up to see him as soon as Hubby gets off work and showered. I really wanted to be at the hospital for my sister, but Ellie had other plans. She didn’t actually settle down to sleep until 7am this morning, so I knew there was no way we’d be making it to the hospital before she had him.
He’s here now, though, and he’s a perfectly healthy beautiful little boy. Congrats Britt & Donovan!
It’s now almost 5am. i still haven’t slept, and Elliana is in no mood to go back to sleep. She’s been awake every 30 minutes, and now she’s given up on going back to sleep. Oh, and our mattress and all of our pillows are now soaked in tea thanks to the cat knocking the glass I’d just filled off of the headboard. Of course Hubby and I are both covered in tea now, and he’s wide awake 2 hours before he needs to be. I’m completely spent.
Today has been a pretty good day around here. Ellie has been in such a good mood, of course still refusing to leave her walker behind. She pitched a fit when I took her out of it to go eat a late lunch with my little cousin. I took her out as part of her graduation gift, so Ellie went with us. She was good as usual as she’s a perfect angel in restaurants. She gets to watch all the people around us, and it keeps her well entertained.
Shortly after we got home my dad called about our annual hay bailing job as it’s definitely that time of year again. My grandma has been begging to see “her little poopsie” all day, so I gladly took her over there to spend a few hours with my grandparents and my aunt while we worry about the hay. Currently Hubby’s raking on the old Ford tractor, Daddy’s bailing with his John Deere, and sitting back on my netbook waiting for them to finish up so I can drive the truck while they load it up.
I love being out here in the hay field. It’s always so peaceful, so I normally tag along even if I don’t have a job to do that day. The only downside is it’s so hot out here today. I definitely don’t need anything like a colon cleanse diet if I sit out here sweating much longer. Sitting out in this heat is like my own personal fat melting sauna. It’s nice and quiet, though, and that gives me plenty of time to get my work done baby free in a nice calming atmosphere. I can concentrate without being distracted every few minutes, and that’s something that doesn’t happen very often these days.
There is one more downside since I don’t have the internet out here in the middle of nowhere, so I’ll have to wait until I get home to publish all these posts. That my dears is why you’ll probably see this published late tonight, so don’t think I’m the crazy lady sitting in a field in the middle of nowhere late at night!
