The Trip

Little A spent most of the day with me sitting at one of the pull offs. We parked so he could watch his mama riding up and down the mountain on her motorcycle.

Allison and Hubby wanted me to grab some pictures of them so they don’t have to wait for Killboy to get their photos up, but my little Kodak point and shoot just can’t keep up with the bikes. I seriously want a DSLR!

Allison went by in a blur.

She was followed by Hubby on our friend Rodney’s ‘06 GSXR 750.

Hubby has been debating on whether to upgrade to an R1 or a GSXR 750. I think he’s definitely sold on the 750 now. He really enjoyed it.

There was definitely a good bit of traffic this weekend. On our first trip through The Gap around 10:30am there was a nice group of Mazda’s going through. I videoed the first 6 minutes of our trip through so I could have some footage of the dragon, but I didn’t get the entire 11 miles. I stopped recording when we came up on a group of slow cars that kind of put an end to the enjoyable ride (even in the Blazer). By the afternoon there was a nice group of bikes.

We also passed a total of 5 Blunt Co. and 1 THP on the way through the first time. By the time we came back with the bikes a lot of the cars had headed out to check out the other roads in the area, and THP only had 1 trooper out. The cops were pretty nice for most of the day.

We did have a little trouble at the end of the day, but the trooper was pretty nice about it. We didn’t know that there’s an age limit in Tennessee for passengers. In SC you can ride as long as you can touch the pegs, but in Tennessee you have to be 14. Allison pulled over once we got out of the curvy roads to let Little A ride with her. We passed a THP sitting on the side of the road, so instead of pulling her over he just followed her back to our friend’s house to make sure nothing went wrong. We really need to get a list together of the different laws for the different states to be sure we aren’t doing something we’re not supposed to be doing.

We ended up back at our friend’s house for a BBQ, then we loaded up last night and made it home at 1am. I didn’t take any photos at the BBQ because my camera battery didn’t want to cooperate. Hopefully my new one will be here in a couple days.

At the end of the day we grabbed a few photos at the Deal’s Gap sign.

They Left Him

Hubby is not a happy camper right now, and his friends might want to invest in some self defense products because they’ve really pissed him off. Well they’re my friends, too, but he’s the one that has a right to be pissed.

Hubby rode 2 1/2 hours to meet up with our friends for their ride at Deal’s Gap. They all went up yesterday and spent the night. I wanted to go, but after waking up with horrible cramps this morning it wasn’t happening. Hubby waited until the weather cleared and left this morning. So, our friend texts me to find out what time Hubby will be there. I tell her about 11:30. She texts me the location to meet at 11:30, and I forward it to hubby.

When he got there our friends were no where in sight. He rode the dragon 4 times, stopped for lunch at the one restaurant/gas station, rode a couple more times, and never saw our friends. He text them, no answer. I text them, no answer. So we both suspect they took off with the locals to ride a few other roads.

Ya know the fact they wanted to ride somewhere else isn’t the issue. The problem is you don’t beg us to ride up and then when Hubby decides he’s going to, you know he’s coming, and you know what time, don’t take off and leave him! If something had happened there would have been no one around that he actually knew, and he would have been 2 1/2 hours from home.

THAT pisses me off.
