Rearranging The Den

While I’m shopping tomorrow I need to make sure I don’t forget to stop into one of the electronics stores in the mall. Hubby and I have been discussing the fact that we’d like to put our smaller tv on a tv wall mount.

Why?  There are quite a few reasons actually.

The den area is a very small room. It’s so small our couch practically takes up the whole room. I’ve somehow managed to cram a love seat in there, too, but depending on which bedroom you need to walk into, you have to nudge the love seat out of the way. Most of the time it stays slid up against the guest room door. We’ve got an entertainment center in the corner of the room, and then we’ve got one wall that’s totally useless furniture-wise because the entire wall is taken up by french doors. To even get out the french door you have to slide the entertainment center out and away from the wall by about 2 ft so you can open the door. Oh, and there’s even a coffee table crammed in there, too! See, I said the room’s small!

If we could put the tv on a wall mount, we could eliminate the need for the entertainment center. Yeah we’d still need something to house the dvd player, vcr (yes we still use it), and Playstation 2. We’ve also got a good stack of movies and video games that need a spot, too, so Hubby said he would build shelfs below the tv wall mount. Sounds good doesn’t it?

The second reason I want the wall mount is because I have a Yoga dvd. I try to keep up with the Yoga doing my routine in my office, but it’s not relaxing doing Yoga in the one place I work. If I get rid of the coffee table and the entertainment center, I’ll still have my tv and dvd player, and I’ll have the extra room I need to do my Yoga in my living room!

Family Getting Healthy

I had planned to spend a good bit of the day today working on my blogs, but you know what? I’m just totally too tired to really think right now. We’ve been going nonstop since 6am this morning running errands, going to the vet, going shopping for a bunch of things hubby needs for work, etc.

I’ve still got to plan out and cook a healthy dinner. I’m getting a late start on cooking tonight because we’ve had nasty weather with tornado watches all day, but now I’m going to have to go cook even though I feel like my feet don’t want to move anymore.

Times like this I would normally say let’s just hit up a drive through, but that’s not happening anymore. Hubby’s on a diet now for his high blood pressure. Even the dog’s on a new diet because the vet says he’s 6 lbs overweight. SIX pounds! I mean come on.

We all gain weight during the winter, even the dog, because we aren’t active. During the summer we’re outside running around, playing, hitting up the lake, and stuff. The dog will definitely lose a few pounds being active. I don’t understand why he wants me to cut his food intake so much. His normal intake is 3 1/2 cups of food a day. That’s not even the recommended amount for his weight according to the dog food, but now the vet wants me to cut his food down to 2 3/4 cups a day for the next month so he’ll lose the weight.

I figure if they’re both on diets then I’m going to work on getting healthy myself. One of my friends is taking one of those super food health things like Orovo, but I don’t think I want to do that yet. Right now I’m going to stick with eating healthy and doing my yoga dvd.
